Search efforts, aided by Italy's Coast Guard, were under way and the Air Force declined to offer many details. It said only that it "lost contact" with the F-16 at about 8 p.m. local (2100 GMT) - language often used to describe a possible crash, although Air Force officials declined to speculate about the incident.
And in case anyone doesn't know
Well, if they did survive, and they're bobbing around somewhere, they couldn't have gone down in a lovelier area. Here's to hoping they find them.
It'd be great if the pilot pop up relaxing on beach sipping a martini with a bunch of women.
incoming 'US military sucks' jokes
incoming 'US military sucks' jokes
In a thread about (presumably) an accident?
Hopefully it wasn't shot down, it's not exactly a secret that the US is a bit gung-ho about these types of things.
incoming 'US military sucks' jokes
Its bloated and overfunded. Nothing to really joke about, its a serious issue and I personally blame US rightwingers.
I bet it was Albania.
nah serbians did it wouldnt be the first time
GG Jamaal you just doomed us all
kosovo did it as a false flag operation.
Alien abduction.
Probably a crash due to the age of the airframe. F16s are not new any more, sadly.
F-16's are good for the price point, but that single engine is rather problematic in the event that it decides to quit on you. But If they flat out lost contact without a mayday call, then I am guessing the pilot is dead and was either dead or unconscious prior to the crash.
