WASHINGTON (CBSDC) – The Transportation Security Administration is once again the subject of national scrutiny, this time after aggressively screening a 7-year-old female passenger with cerebral palsy which caused her family to miss their flight.
The girl, identified as Dina Frank in a report by The Daily, was waiting with her family on Monday to board a flight departing from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York headed to Florida.
Since Dina walks with the aid of leg braces and crutches, she cannot pass through airport metal detectors, and must instead submit to a pat-down by TSA agents.
Dina, who is also reportedly developmentally disabled, is usually frightened by the procedure. Her family reportedly requests that agents on hand take the time to introduce themselves to her.
However, the agents on duty at the time began to handle her aggressively instead.
What the hell. I'm at a loss for words.
You'd expect this in some fucked up poor country, but what the fuck America? You're meant to be a wealthy, modern nation, but all I hear is fucked up shit happening over there these days.
I'd make a snarky comment about TSA, but at this rate they just sort of bring it on themselves so we don't need to.
who are TSA agents.
seriously how can anyone be this cruel. protocol shouldn't go this far
This is one of those cases where south park makes an episode about something like the TSA and they aren't exagerating.

They are supposed to protect people and prevent fear and danger. But sometimes it just goes too far.
I want to visit America one day, but not if im greeted like a criminal.
I would love to see the TSA interview process. I imagine that they make you kill a loved one or peel the skin off a child.
I'm probably gonna get flamed for not jumping on the bandwagon here, but I'd like to get some more details.
For some reason I still thought that TSA stood for Toilet Safety Administration.
shit, that's the airport I go to
I'm gonna have to deal with these clowns
They probably got some sort of compensation from the airline/airport, aka free business class tickets to their destination
I don't understand why you can't just have an adult in these cases walk the child through the detector.

There is a South Park episode about that.

The fact that the country is wealthy means our politicians aren't focused on fighting terrorists or revolutionaries, and can focus on oppressing minorities and harassing the disabled.
One of these days a TSA agent's going to get decked in the face, for better or for worse.
I think one can safely assume that terrorist forces have achieved an overwhelming victory for their course when the people who pride themselves on their freedom willingly submit themselves to this horseshit.
