Avatar was enjoyable solely because of technology. The story was old. But I agree with him, I miss hand-drawn films.
I'm gonna have to agree with 177cheese, Avatar was a huge hit because of the CGI and that alone.
I don't get it, his argument kind of invalidates his own point of preferring Hand-Drawn over CGI. If it's all about films with good story, then it shouldn't matter what medium they're produced on.
John Lasseter is a genius. I agree with every single word he said.
I'm gonna have to agree with 177cheese, Avatar was a huge hit because of the CGI and that alone.
It's what they did with the CGI that made it enjoyable. If it was nothing but photorealistic blue cats then I would have fucking hated Avatar. But the environments and the creatures of Pandora made it all very awesome and adventurous.
That's what I've been trying to tell everyone.
Agree. Although I thought the movie Avatar had stunning graphics, I found the story compelling, the acting was great, the world was dynamic and interesting, and overall I enjoyed watching it.
Avatar is basically a 3D Pocahontas.
