Yep, it's the end of the year, so I want all of you to post one photo of your choosing, that is your favourite photo you have taken this year. Tell us about it if you want because we probably care (maybe not Killuah). Fence by Sam Haberman, on Flickr I just love the colours in this one. It was taken in Winter around the time I felt I was really making progress as a photographer - reminds me of a time when I was bustling with photo ideas. [editline]25th December 2011[/editline] Also good luck bopie :v:
Just one? Hm. I think I'll have to go with this one Went on a trip to Cuba early in the year. While it was mostly just your normal idyllic touristy beach affair, I did get the opportunity to visit the real Cuba for a day. And man, does that ever give you perspective on our world.

I love the bokeh in the background, I don't know its just my favorite photo I've taken yet, as this is also my first year with a camera
I was pretty much asleep for most of my trip to Arizona. A bump in the road woke me up and I took a look at the mountains. I mumbled "Hmm" as I raised my camera. *Click* and then I was back to sleep. The reason why I like this is because you have this very busy background with all kinds of shit going around, and then there is this couple who are sitting in a sort of calmness of all of these lines. I think this also defines a bit of what I like in photography. I like to shoot stuff where lines are obviously present and they take you somewhere. I like the fact that lines like these give some sort of calmness to the picture and direct your attention immediately to them. That combined with a clear subject is really what I tend and like to shoot. So yeah, it may not be the most eye-pleasing picture I have with crazy colors and shit, but for the reasons above I think I like this the most.
I think this one. Only because it was such a happy accident - from the window of a minibus. ISO 1000 just after the sun had set. I think I got really lucky. It's so otherworldy and so unlike a lot of my work. I just like the image as a standalone picture. Without a doubt, this one. Took it back in August, I love how warm this picture feels. It also captures one thing I love to take pictures of, skating, and skaters.

I chose this one of a light beam entering St. Peter's Basilica (Vatican City) because in my entire time of being a photographer I had never once thought I'd be traveling the world seeing things that I have only seen in movies. What I have is a very amazing experience to live here in Crete, Greece for two years, and I cherish every second of it. My personal favorite would be this, but I can't pinpoint why. It's one of those photos that I wanted for a long time, now I just need to improve on it more somehow.

This was taken while "Til ungdommen" (To the youth) was sung. (If you're uncertain on what this post is refering to.) I love this because it shows what happened on the 25th of July in Norway. United love. I love this picture most as a normal student, not as a photographer. Never have I experienced love and unity like that, and it has most definitively changed me as a person, hopefully for the better.
Very hard to chose. I like a few of them. But I just like the idea that in a busy fast moving world I can freeze it and it's just beautiful. Hard to explain... :downs:

I'm going to buy myself a cheap bike to replace my stolen one and go exploring.
I love this picture because it was incredibly difficult to take. I was shooting a manual focus 1.2 lens on a tripod without a remote, in a tunnel barely over half my height. I had to guess where I was going to sit, and set the focus there, and click the shutter for 10 seconds and crawl through the tunnel to my position and get in pose. Compositionally the photo just looks cool to me and I like the shadows.

Wow, that is excellent.
Oh my, what a difficult task. One shot. I've taken to calling myself a photographer since, mid July I guess. I made what would've been the mistake of buying an expensive camera first, but it wasn't a mistake because I had the means at the end of summer and I've made an incredible amount of progress that, really wouldn't have been possible with a point and shoot. Anyway, I've come a long way, and I've done plenty of more "fine art" photography that I really enjoy, but there was no one decisive shot that really really sticks out to me more than the others, but there are a lot of shots that I like. If I just have to pick one that is dear to me for a variety of reasons, it's probably this one: I just, am blown away by how good the cigarette smoke looks, and the painter's expression. The tents in the background, it's just wonderful. I had the pleasure of traveling up to DC for a day to document and talk with the folks in the Occupy DC movement, and that was just an incredible experience and chance to document what I see as history in the making. This was probably the best impromptu portrait I did all day. Love it.
I didn't think this picture would come out, but it did. Back when my car was actually clean... I only started taking photography seriously in August of this year Tyne Bridge Sunset by CommunistWolf, on Flickr So I think this is one of by best shots, I love the colours in it and how it actually came out.

I like how serious it looks at first glance but then you notice how absurd it really is.
