And does anybody want to join? It would be completely over the internet. We would send each other pieces of stuff we have done and edit it to make it better. Or somebody can do vocals, somebody play guitar and do percussion. I'm good with FL Studio and piano and percussion, fyi. Anybody up? As of December 4th, pm me which instrument you'd like to play and I'll add you to the list. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The Facepunch Virtual Ensemble: (name pending) Instruments Guitar 1: Ian D Guitar 2: Drums: Bass: Keyboard/synth: barrierloss Vocals: Ian D Other Lyrics: Gmod4ever Mixing: Producing: Managing: Klownox Anything else: articpenguin Genre: Metal
What kind of music is it? I could do guitar and maybe vocals I guess.
Metal/Industrial/Techno. You name it. I'm up for anything.
if i played drums i totally would do this.
if i played drums i totally would do this.
Go right ahead. I can do the beats/noises as well as back-up drums.
collaborating over the internet is a nightmare
collaborating over the internet is a nightmare
Having priorities and a system make it work. I could possibly do this if I had someway to plug my bass directly into my computer.

I don't know how to record on GTR 3 and I don't like doing it through FL Studio.
I'll see how this goes.
My only musical talent is being able to write lyrics (and if I feel the spirit move me, write full compositions in terms of dictating notation [IE writing out the sounds, not actually write out the notes]) and being able to throw things in a fit and scream in a phony British accent about how everything is rubbish and you all can't do anything right. Can I join? :v:
I play drums I have acustic and e drums
I have a few guitars, three electric, one acoustic. The electrics have TOO much variety in sound, could change things up a bit? Been looking to do this for a while, you have my full support bud. Drop me a line if you need me! I can also sing if needed, but depending on the day I go from Ringo pitch to Paul pitch (normal/high to intense high)
Can I join? :v:
Yes.
You'd need software to record though. Such as Reaper.
audacity is free. I own said cable and it works great when you use the amp output.
audacity is free. I own said cable and it works great when you use the amp output.
Audacity lacks a lot of the power of Reaper. And Reaper is free.
It's a nice idea. I play guitar and I'd join, but I have no way to record myself at this time. Good luck with it anyway (:
Audacity lacks a lot of the power of Reaper. And Reaper is free.
So what is the problem then?
I'm a pretty good singer, in a way that I can make my voice resemble some musicians, I can do Kurt Cobain pretty well, Brian Johnson, and Eric Clapton, at least the Cocaine song, I nail that one.. However, I sing like shit when it comes to normal singing, my impersonations are much better.
I'll be the drummer. I've been drumming for about like 4 years and I'm going to be on my school's drumline next year. :D So I'm totally up for it. I'm also going to get a home recording studio in my basement so I'll record drums in there. :D
I'd help out with guitar, but I don't play metal- ever. I play Pink Floyd and Guns N Roses kind of stuff.
Every band needs a manager, right?
hahaha i can do any synth stuff. and mixing and stuff. beats or whatever is needed
We need to set up a right and proper bandlist then. Who is, for sure, going to try this out? (IE they can play instruments and record them, or have other special roles [IE lyrics, managing, producing, mixing, etc]) And what genre are we going to play (we should probably figure this out once we got the band together) I'll update this post here as we pick who confirms that they want to try this out, so here we go.
So what is the problem then?
No problemo senoir. Just when you said audacity is free it almost implied that Reaper is not free when it is free
Every band needs a manager, right?
You shall be... Groupies
