A Guide to Donald Trump's Huge Debts—and the Conflicts They Present
This roster is based on publicly available loan documents. According to his own public disclosure, Trump, as of May, was on the hook for 16 loans worth at least $713 million. This list does not include an estimated $2 billion in debt amassed by real estate partnerships that include Trump. One of those loans is a $950 million deal that was cobbled together by Goldman Sachs and the state-owned Bank of China—an arrangement that ethics experts believe violates the Constitution's emolument clause, which prohibits foreign governments from providing financial benefits to federal officials.
I can not say anything about the source itself and the article is also written a bit one sided but I think these numbers are certainly very interesting and are nice to have when it comes to classifying his future decisions as a president.
One big issue with Trump's loans from Ladder Capital is that he appears to be personally liable for at least $26 million of the debt. So if a problem with the loan emerges, Ladder Capital could ask Trump, not his business, to cover this amount personally. Even if Trump does remove himself from the operations of the Trump Organization and lets his adult children run the business, this conflict of interest would not be addressed. The man in the Oval Office would still be in hock to this financial institution.

It's possible, then, that if the firm does go on the block, Trump's loans could end up being bought by another party. It could be an investor or a financial institution based in the United States or overseas. Imagine, say, a Russian bank owning the debt of an American president. In any event, another troubling conflict of interest could exist—and the public might not even know about this at first, because Trump would be under no obligation to update the personal financial disclosure until it was time to file his annual disclosure report.
We're fucked :suicide:
he's already on the road to impeachment
still less debt than college students
maybe he just doesn't wanna be president anymore and only wanted it in the first place because of the status it would give him.
IIRC, he or his son openly stated that Trump feels becoming president is a "step down" from his current position in the world.
Still think it's strange that while one of his big campaign promises is to fight corruption in DC, his supporters seem to give Trump himself a free pass on any potential corruption. Even not releasing his tax returns didn't seem to dent his popularity. He just rides on the perception that he is too rich to be bribed.

Getting the vibe that Trump never wanted to be the president - he wants to be a businessman with added perks of president and none of the demands. Those would be hoisted to Pence and make him "the most powerful vice president in history".

:thatwasfunnyright: What a jackass Trump is.

Well it doesn't pay as well, for starters. The guy's had to limit a lot of his personal freedom to take office.
the sad thing is none of this matters and trump knows it. the republican congress will not impeach him no matter what because they need an idiot with a pen and the courts cant really do anything else since only congress can bring a sitting president to trial.
now people probably can sue the trump administration for certain things but they cant get very far as well
