In North Korea, illicit drug use usually results in a strict punishment. For example, in 2010 one source told NKRadio.org that the government had begun putting signs up saying ‘any drug users will face a firing squad should they be caught' following outbreaks of meth-amphetamine usage in the country. However, that attitude reportedly doesn't extend to all drugs — in particular, Marijuana is an accepted part of life in the country. Benjamin R. Young has taken a look at the country's relationship with marijuana for NKNews.org: There is no taboo around pot smoking in the country – many North Koreans know the drug exists and have smoked it. In North Korea, the drug goes by the name of ip tambae or “leaf tobacco.” It is reported to be especially popular amongst young soldiers in the North Korean military – rather than getting hooked on tar & nicotine like their contemporaries in the West, they fraternize without fear of repercussion by lighting up king-sized doobies during down time on the military beat. Despite the fact the government does not crackdown on the use of the marijuana (or opium) and its prevalence amongst the common people, all you groups of dreadlocked California hippies and Burning Man festival survivors hoping to book yourselves onto a spliff-sampling tour after reading this are likely to be disappointed. If a Western tourist asks his or her guide where is the best place to get the “special plant,” as it is euphemistically referred to, the guide will most likely eschew the question. They’re likely well enough educated in Western legal attitudes towards marijuana to not feel the need to promote anything that might draw any more negative press. Then again, bring them a bottle of Hennessy, and they might be more willing to help you out. Young reports that the drug is readily available from the black market, and that marijuana sprouts wildly in many areas. Newspapers are used as rolling papers, with pictures of the Supreme Leader and his family carefully avoided.
Source: http://www.businessinsider.com/north-koreas-and-marijuana-2013-1 And America and the UK and other developed non-tyrannical nations lock people in cages for years just for merely possessing it... that's a poetic note.
What else are they going to do? It's not like they have enough energy to fuck.
apparently opium isn't considered a drug either and the only drug that seems to be policed is meth
Watch as Vice gets in just to smoke weed
As Thomas Jefferson once said, there is nothing more paramount to the advancement of liberty and freedom than the right to smoke weed
Well they probably grow a lot of hemp in Best Korea, since it's a highly useful, easy to grow and cheap.
Well I guess it's not all bad over in NK then.
I wonder what NK Kush would be like.
Amsteryang
I wonder what NK Kush would be like.
Very brown. Just like dirt.
I can imagine Fox News picking up on this and using it as a tagline for a new JUST SAY NO campaign. SAY NO BECAUSE NORTH KOREA USES MARIJUANA AND THEY'RE SOCIALISTS
I can imagine Fox News picking up on this and using it as a tagline for a new JUST SAY NO campaign. SAY NO BECAUSE NORTH KOREA USES MARIJUANA AND THEY'RE SOCIALISTS
I'm down for new Cold War if Fox News is... :v:
So that's how they keep the people from rebelling :v:
marijuana use leads to communism, more at 11
so it is best koreantinent
On one hand, it's pretty cool that North Korea is so chill about weed, but on the other hand it gives more ammunition for those warbands of low-bred swamp-born gator people who still hate communism and piss liquid patriotism. That being said if you are an actual human-alligator hybrid, I mean no ill will towards your kind; I am merely hating on Republicans again. Conservative shit-pissers aside, good on NK for embracing weed, even if their regime is run by a cabal of generals and another clone of the K.I.M brand of crazy android dictators.
north korea could make a ton of money in tourism if they made this more open\ Imagine. Pyongyang, the next Amsterdam!
So that's how Kim Jong-Un got so fat.
So that's how they keep the people from rebelling :v:
Guard: "Oh citizen, you have a complaint? Here have some of this kick ass new strain it's called Glorious Reefer. Ha it's funny how the imperialist pigs think we send dissenters to camps. Go home and chill, that's an executive order."
So that's how Kim Jong-Un got so fat.
Kim Jong-Kush :smug:
Watch as Vice gets in just to smoke weed
They already got in like... twice, right? A third time in that nightmare of a "country"... Not worth the toke.
I'd pay to have a mural of Kim Jong Un smoking a joint in his underwear, while he eats doritos on the couch.
North korea could make a ton of money in tourism if they made this more open. Imagine. Pyongyang, the next Amsterdam!
And then people end up disappearing; subsequently NK starts selling soylent steaks and Lovett pies. Not really though; even if the people are starved, they probably wouldn't end up stooping to those kinda levels, surely even the crazy NK regime wouldn't be so low-stooping to consider such things.
Kim Jong-Kush :smug:
Kim Bong-Un
