The United Nations Security Council is considering Russia's call for a pause in Saudi-led air strikes in Yemen. The council's president, Dina Kawar, who is also Jordan's UN ambassador, said members needed time to "reflect on the proposal". The air strikes against Shia Houthi rebels continued for an 11th night on Saturday. The Red Cross has called for a 24-hour ceasefire to bring in desperately needed medical supplies. "Someone needs to protect my foreign oil reserves" - every "first world" country that fights in the middle east.
Gotta love it when the country that refuses to allow the UN into a country to stop the things happening there calls for the same thing to happen in another country.
I'm imagining reactions would've been a lot different if the US had said this.
"Someone needs to protect my foreign oil reserves" - every "first world" country that fights in the middle east.
except russia is a net oil producer. this is because russia is trying to buddy up to iran, which is their new middle east sugar daddy since syria is well...... calphated, look back in 2011-12, russia opposed action in syria on the same grounds
