An artist erected an obscene statue of Hillary Clinton in downtown Manhattan Tuesday morning causing a heated fight between defenders of the profane piece of protest art and women trying to tear it down.
The grotesque caricature of the Democratic candidate appeared outside the Bowling Green station during morning rush hour on Tuesday and shows Clinton with hoofed feet and a Wall Street banker resting his head on her bare breasts.

Is that from same artist that did nude Trump statue back in August?
Edit
Oh yeah, it's same artist.
I'd do the same. Any monuments to the Lich Queen will only bring plague and pestilence to the city
In August, an unrelated anarchist collective called INDECLINE, put up a naked statue of Donald Trump in Union Square. The political group also erected statues of the GOP nominee in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Cleveland and Seattle.
Now I have a question.
This statue was put up illegally, you need a permit to put one even when temporary for protesting.
Now, is woman destroying the statue not in a wrong then? As in afterall, activist said themselves statue is no longer in their possession. It's basically an abandoned property.
“To put something up like this in front of my work place...I shouldn’t have to see this,” she later told the Daily News, fighting back tears as she gestured toward the crude figure.
imagine almost crying because of a tit statue

Typically you don't dispose of trash by knocking it over and sitting on it. The women also seemed rather belligerent.
The proper thing would have been to call the police or the city to have the statue properly removed.

It's not so much a question of legality more so than it is of free speech. Not so much per say from the government, but rather other people. The trump statues stood no problem for the most part, where the Clinton one got trashed in a matter of hours. Its a double standard when it's ok to do it when it fits your views and to destroy it when it's the exact same thing essentially now going against it rather then just accepting both.

Well I guess it counts as loitering which is a civil offence.

But you could argue destroying the statue was also a part of a counter-protest, which is also covers freedom of speech. I mean, people burn down flags of US or other countries and it's fine.
Since nobody owned the statue, you can say it was a counter-protest move.
Or I'm just pulling shit out of my ass, I don't know. I'm not American.

I'm not sure if the Clinton statue was attacked because people were upset that it made Clinton look bad or if they just hate seeing Clinton in the first place. Trump is a running gag in American politics for a lot of people so I think the humor is why the Trump statue lasted so long.

Destroying the statue is attempting to remove it's message.
Sets a dangerous precedent to say that freedom of expression is allowing yourself the freedom to block the expression of others

nah its okay to suppress anti Hillary speech because Trump is bad
[sp]/s[/sp]
It should be legal to destroy the statue, although it does speak a bit for what kind of people are in Hillarys constituency, and the general double standard.

Typo?
Typo?
No, it should be, it was placed on a public place and abandoned, it falls under free speech but so should destroying it fall under free speech.
or at least thats how i see it. Since the statue is basically one big political statement.

Since it is one big political statements, should we destroy everything that is considered one big political statement? Or does that depend on if it conflicts with our political view or not?
So a naked old grandpa is ok, but an old naked hag is suddenly a bad thing
ok america

It honestly doesn't matter what the real reason was for it getting trashed, it's the fact that people are willing to trash it because they don't like it that's the problem.
To be quite honest I think both the Clinton and Trump statues are stupid. Perhaps it's wrong to destroy them but it's irrelevant nonsense. Where they just put up randomly? Did the artist get permission for them?
It's weird only Clinton's been destroyed though - I would have thought the Trump ones would have been more likely to be destroyed.
I looked it up, and the Trump statue was placed in five different cities at once and was pretty much gone the next day
That doesn't seem to be much more tolerated than the clinton statue?
I think it would have been more fun if they had been mass produced and put up all over the country.
Trump statue: "Hahaha fuck yeah, look at his tiny dick and fat belly! Let's take a selfie!"
Clinton statue: "We need to tear down this oppressive, sexist, body shaming monument to bigotry this instant! God save the Queen!"

If you asked a trump supporter what they thought of his statue, they would have been just as offended?

Trump's statue was torn down by the city, this was torn down by a couple of violent women.
If you asked a trump supporter what they thought of his statue, they would have been just as offended?
And yet nobody forcefully tore down the statue and started assaulting and screaming at the artist?
If you asked a trump supporter what they thought of his statue, they would have been just as offended?
I didn't see any of the pissy trump supporters try to excuse their response with those shitty hypocritical reasons, though
It caused kind of just a typical 'hey, fuck you too' sort of outrage
Obviously you are in new york city, do you think that you will find any Trump supporter?

I don't remember the statue of Trump having satanic hoofed feet or a banker caressing him though.

I don't think that's what those two women had issues with.
Obviously you are in new york city, do you think that you will find any Trump supporter?
Well his family lives there, maybe if you bump into one of them
I don't remember the statue of Trump having satanic hoofed feet or a banker caressing him though.
Yeah, that's what tipped it over the edge. /s
