There is a kid who goes to the school i go to. He has a huge passion for trains. Like Locomotives and such. Well, he is also autistic, not bad enough where he is severely crippled by it or anything, just a little awkward. Well, people make fun of him, but not for being Autistic, but being into Trains.
I don't understand why, its a perfectly legitimate hobby with a huge market.

This kid isn't one of the, preach his hobby to the world and talk to everybody about it, he is really shy and quiet. I would talk to him throughout middle school because he was near me in the Alphabet and we got seated together a lot.
What i don't understand, is why the kids who are obsessed with sports and who watch sports center and memorize statistics and come to school and talk about numbers of a basketball game or something, kids who literally OBSESS over sports are not made fun of at all.
Why is it a kid who wants to become a train conductor is made fun of when his dream is a realistic dream but a bunch of fat, talentless kids who are obsessed with sports that wanna be Lebron James are more socially acceptable? I want to join the military, and am going to a technical college next year to become a gunsmith, and I said that and people didn't understand why i wouldn't go to a 4 year university to get a degree in something I'm not interested in.
People should be OK with others who are pursuing their dreams and aspiration instead of judging them because they didn't watch a football game on Sunday or attend the schools baseball tournament. I dont have a problem with people who are really into sports, i was when i was younger but i just got into other things, i dont understand why people who are really into sports, are always so judging and why Schools are basically split into Sports and Non Sports players.
I was into RC flying (particularly indoors) for a year or two a while back. It was fun and all but when (because you will!) you crashed, you pretty much lost either a great deal of money or a great deal of time trying to mend the damn thing.
I managed to do loops around lamps and hover with planes... until I crashed my 3 month old plane straight into the ground and broke exactly everything on it.
People in high school are arrogant, and like being smartasses. Its common for someone to be bulled because of a different view or 'hobby.' An example would be myself, I am training to become a police officer. People in my school all have the "fuck the police" mentality (mainly because everyone is rich)
Well it's because to most people (including myself) trains are fucking boring. It's just kids not being mature enough to respect other people.
it's pretty simple
sports gets associated with all the good looking athletic people
trains... well, trains don't necessarily do that
[editline]8th September 2011[/editline]
it's not rocket science
snorting coke out of a black hookers ass, Still cant tell if thats socially acceptable
Trains are the fucking shit man.

I like Starcraft 2
Same thing happened to me, I used to get bullied for being "good at using computers" by morons who don't even know what to do of their useless life.
At least I can do something, morons.

All the rich kids are usually the worst

Yeah, i used to be really into making models, like the plastic model cars you had to cut the parts off with an xacto knife. but it got to be where i had made so many that it got to be a bit boring. But i still enjoy working on one for a little bit every now and then. Say that at my school full of Rich spoiled kids and they think I have no life.
because trains are gay
Most athletic kids are bigshots who try to impress girls.
I pay hundreds of dollars to paint tiny pewter men and then play with them using rules involving lots of math.
Most athletic kids are bigshots who try to impress girls.
Sadly from my experience thats true. Strangely enough my hobby is body building.
I'm fortunate enough to be in a school where people are pretty understanding of each other's differences. But every once in a while I'll get those people that don't get why or how I'm into being a musician.
DIY stuff, building a 1W laser and burning shit was pretty satisfying.
Get him railworks and all DLC.

My school isnt like, Split up by Race or by like, social class at all. Its literally just Sports Vs Non Sports. and a Majority isnt into Sports. A lot of people of a lot of different groups get a long here its nice, just today i got pissed and had to rant.
Because reason and compassion are for fags.
Generally, my indifferance to people who want to judge me has pretty much solved that problem.
that, and, my social position at my school is very un-usual, would probably explain how i can slag off at these people and not get my face punched in.
