Microsoft registers new domains in China- among them, Xbox8.com

So now the question remains; defensive domain purchase, or a sign of a future name scheme? I can't see the Xbox 3 being named the Xbox 8, and buying the 8 domain when the option for calling it the Xbox Infinity (flip the 8 horizontally) is on the table seems kinda farfetched. My bet is on defensive.

Well considering Microsoft is streamlining the looks, I wouldn't be surprised if next Xbox was just Xbox 8

I don't know, I don't think much could be as bad as Xbox 720. I mean they could call it the Xbox Megahitler but that'd be stretching it :v:

To be fair, the 720 was never a potential name. People just started saying it.

Domains only cost like 10-30 bucks a year, this probably means nothing.
