Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Thursday ripped the Republican plan to repeal ObamaCare ahead of a House vote, saying millions would lose health insurance if the bill becomes law.
"How can you call something 'health care reform' when millions of people lose their health insurance?" Sanders wrote on Twitter.
The House is poised to vote Thursday on an amended version of the American Health Care Act (AHCA), which repeals significant parts of former President Obama's signature healthcare law. The bill would allow states to waive ObamaCare's rule prohibiting insurers from charging customers with pre-existing conditions more for coverage.
The bill would set aside $8 billion over five years to help people with pre-existing conditions purchase health insurance.
Still, Congress' scorekeeper, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), has yet to weigh in with an assessment of how much the GOP plan would cost and how many people could lose coverage under the measure.

Because the current party in power says 'reform' when they really mean 'regression and increased capital flow to the wealthy'.
The whole greedy ideology of 'fuck you, I got mine' taken to its extreme.
The guys who're gonna lose insurance thanks to this "reform" just need to bootstrap some more, maybe open a few gmod servers and make investments instead of complaining about how expensive healthcare is :vs:
America had the chance to have this man as President. Clinton and the DNC ruined it, then fucked up the easiest election ever. What a world we live in.
If I remember right, weren't most of those millions going to loose it because they were going to give it up?

You do realize that the Republicans wanted to eliminate the ACA expansion of Medicaid eligibility right? Within one year, 18 million would lose their insurance, and after the subsidies went south, this number would rise to 27 million, and up to 32 million in 2026.

You can't blame it all on the DNC though, I do believe Russia influenced the 2016 election.

Bernie not being more strongly rooted for is all on the DNC, who mistrusted him and wanted Hillary to become the first woman president. I agree the Russians did have a hand, but most of that seemed to be with the e-mails and endorsing of Trump.
hey its OK high risk pools were great before the aca, they'll be greater afterwards because we're also destabilizing insurance, gutting medicare and tossing a thin dressing of extra funds to not really cover anything.

You sure can blame it all on them. They had a 3 million point lead in popular votes. Yet, because of shitty campaigning, they failed to capture the few needed states that would have promised a win. Perfect case of hubris getting the upper hand.
They mishandled every bump they hit along the way, and still refuse to admit they did anything wrong. So, unfortunately, their miscalculations in the election will continue to haunt them for likely the next four years, if not longer.

Oh yeah, you're right. Russia didn't really play a role in Bernie not getting nominated. Bad reading on my part. Thought you said it's the DNC's fault Trump is president.

Considering that the expansion basically replaced some insurance plans that people like myself liked, I'd welcome that elimination. You may find this hard to believe, but there are people on Medicaid now who never wanted it in the first place.

So how about instead of fucking over tens of millions who couldn't otherwise afford *any* coverage, how about we work to make your medicaid plan better?

Why do that when we can be spiteful cunts? /s

That "first X president" stuff just makes my blood boil. Vote for someone you can trust, not for someone who would make history just because of a particular trait.
It's stuff like this that just proves to me that there really is a right and wrong side.
I feel like, in many policies that Republicans want to pass, there's a necessary part to it that legitimately disenfranchises a specific party.
I'm sorry, but things like this and the "religious liberty" act are two examples of trying to sugar coat inhumane actions against a group with a name like "Religious liberty" or "Healthcare reform". Really, it's "I don't think about people dying, I don't think about rape victims as anything but a pre-existing condition, I just want their money."
"I don't think homosexuals are people, and religious groups are the only way I can justify my decision. Let's allow for hateful people to legally discriminate against them - despite them having no influence in the way they are."
Just imagine if they supported a bill that allowed for religious individuals to claim liberty for discriminating against a specific race of people. It's the same.
I hate what this country has become. Even at my university - with a conservatory and other liberal arts - there have been hate crimes against people wearing burkas, and I've witness anti-gay slang and graffiti which is a first to me.
Getting off topic, but the answer to Bernie's question is that they can call it that because they legitimately don't care. It's called playing the game. There is no interest for the people in mind, just themselves.

In a way, it is the DNC's fault, because Bernie:
1) Had no scandals (other than mis-construed tabloid stuff like "OMG HE BOUGHT A HOUSE [sp]after selling a property his wife owned for decades while also saving up for this house for years[/sp] SOME SOCIALIST HE TURNED OUT TO BE HUH GUYS?!" or the fact that his "honeymoon" trip took him, his wife, and many co-workers to the Soviet Union for, y'know, political work.
2) Campaigned the fuck out of the rust-belt and mostly rural areas that are predominantly middle-to-lower class, and had a message that resonated with them.
By putting Bernie aside and constantly cramming Clinton into the lime-light, they undermined what Bernie could have done on the presidential campaign trail, and while many no longer trust polls after they claimed Hillary would've beaten Trump, Bernie was polled to have an even better chance of doing just that, and he had the conviction and resolve to do it by running a successful, inclusive campaign.

Jesus elephant-rimming Christ, THIS.
I supported Bernie because I thought he had the best ideas and the right conviction for the job, not because he'd be the first Jewish president or the oldest.

They didn't even bother to campaign in the key states they lost, notably the rust belt.
Even President Obama called her campaign out on it afterwards.

Hey own damn husband, a former president, told her this during the campaign. Literally everyone outside of her campaign and circle of elites was telling her to campaign there.
