if you're broke and can barely afford anything more than food and rent, i generally think it's fine to pirate an expensive plugin if you're well off however, you should be paying. the smaller companies that make these products struggle to survive and i'm sure we've lost a lot of great innovations within music technology due to people not paying for what they profit from if you're making money from your music, no matter what, you pay for what you're using
