it really feels like this is purely out of the sensationalism of the idea tbh, something that's not practical at all within the lore
they better have very good reasons and a really solid way to make this work
I really hope you don't actually kill the Outsider
There's always an alternative in the Dishonored games, I would not be surprised if there is a way to spare the Outsider.

The lore allows for the death of the Outsider tho, he's a representative figure of the Void, who isn't the first and certainly not the last. Harvey Smith says that the void needs a representative figure and may spawn a new one if the previous one is no longer there.
yeah nice fuck this guy... nothing but a shifty troublemaker

It looks like Lurk has the blade that was used to sacrifice the person that would become the Outsider, so that's probably going to be what kills him in the end.
The Void will gain a new god sooner or later if he does die. What Daud and Lurk are doing is stupid though, the Outsider isn't benign but he's not exactly fucking Khorne either. Killing the Outsider opens up the possibility of there being a much nastier Void god appearing that's out to kill everyone or make their lives miserable.
Lurk is probably going to become the new outsider

Do the impossible you say?
But can we see the invisible? Can we fight the power?

I'm thinking that after the Brigmore Witches, Daud became a magic hater since magic has brought him nothing but misery and has made the world a worse place. If it weren't for magic, Daud would not have been able to kill the Empress, Corvo would not have been able to come after him, and Delilah would not have done what she did. Even reading some of the lore in DH2 reveals that there was a huge war against the occult since witches were running rampant.
I'm guessing Daud has lost some of his sanity and is hellbent on righting a wrong in the world (since he does want redemption for killing the Empress) OR the Outsider has been tainted by Delilah(he mentions she is now a part of him and he doesn't like it) and he's planning a return to the days when black magic was used to oppress everyone
Fair enough. I haven't played through Dishonored 2 yet but I've been pretty thorough with the first game and read the book The Corroded Man. Daud has probably been planning this for a while, the description for the book The Return of Daud mentions he's facing a lot of opposition and "old enemies" trying to get whatever it is that can kill the Outsider.
Standalone expansion or an excuse to sell at full price?
I hope he dies so we don't hear that embarrassment of a VA replacement again. I still don't understand why they changed it?
