Murder victim Jo Yeates did not eat the pizza she bought in the final moments before she disappeared, police have said.
The force said tests had concluded she did not consume the pizza she purchased from a Tesco store on 17 December.
Meanwhile, Miss Yeates's final steps have been reconstructed for BBC One's Crimewatch programme.
The programme tracked the murdered landscape architect's journey home after she left the Bristol Ram pub.
Miss Yeates stopped at Waitrose, before buying the mozzarella, tomato and pesto pizza from a Tesco Express store.
Police said tests concluded Miss Yeates did not consume the pizza she bought
She then visited Bargain Booze before walking to her flat in the Clifton area of the city.
The snow-covered body of 25-year-old Miss Yeates was found near Bristol on Christmas Day, eight days after she went missing.

:monocle:
Wow that's some amazing progress for the whole investigation process right there.
Top notch investigators here.
Oh boy, that was really keeping me in suspense.
Well this could mean she was attacked as she entered her home, maybe by a burglar?
The pizza done it.
Starting to remind me of hot fuzz where they find the swan when the house blows up.
What a saucy development

What a cheesy pun.

I knew someone would deliver that pun

Glad to see your wit isn't getting crusty.
No matter how this case pans out, no one will be topping the quick results of this pizza investigation.
She was obviously killed by a Ninja Turtle.
Wait, how do we know she didn't eat it? The pizza has never been found. The only way it could be ruled out is if she simply didn't stay in her apartment for long enough to make it, but I thought we didn't even know when she left her apartment. Tests (which I assume were for crumbs / plates) don't really mean much considering she could have gone out to eat it with a "friend"
I've had a Pizza in the restaurant opposite that Tesco Express. This whole thing is literally happening in the area around my Hall of Residence.
This isn't a serious news article, right?
The BBC really doesn't have anything more important to add?
So... that pizza's just up for grabs now?
Because I'm kind of hungry.
It is obvious. This woman was killed because a burglar was hungry and wanted some pizza. This fiendish man's only opposition was Jo Yeates, who after putting up a tough fight was finally bested by her attacker. This man...no...this pizza bandit made off with her pizza and left her body in the snow. We will find and catch him though, and after such a murderous meal he will get his just desserts.

They probably checked her digestive system in a post-mortem. It's common practice to check a murder victims stomach and throat in order to see if they injested any harmful substances before their death, they probably checked through and noticed there was no trace of pizza in her system (small parts of food can stay in your system for a long time, it's not all instantly taken it and digested).

hahahah they have her body and you think to see what she ate they would look for crumbs? oh my god
I dough not understand how this helps the case.
I've bought pizzas before, and eaten them on a different day.
Shocking it is, I know.

Did you really come up with that just so you could have a pizza the action?
