Is it weird that I'd rather see Maul have some kind of redemption or revenge on Sidious or the Empire instead of being killed by one of the heroes or Obi-wan? Just a thought. Looking forward to the episode.

Honestly, he's too far gone for redemption. Every time he manages to get some sort of standing or power again, either Sidious, Anakin/Vader or something else botches it for him. I see him as more likely to ultimately die a meaningless death at the hands of Vader than to be killed by the heroes or the like.

No, I hope they break form as well.

At this point Obi-wan fighting Maul is the only way things could go down, it's been building up for a long time. It'd feel pretty out of left-field if he gave his life up for a vengeful strike against Sidious/the empire at this point when he's spent most of his screen-time a raving, pathetic lunatic utterly obsessed with vengeance.
Maul hasn't been so stable since he originally got bisected and while Sidious did [sp]kill his apprentice and horribly torture him,[/sp]Obi kind of cut him in half and Maul in turn [sp]killed Obi's old love.[/sp] It'd feel a little unresolved if they never met again.
