Story is:
Yesterday in Sweden, there was really heavy rain, I mean REALLY heavy, outside in the garden there is a pump that pumps water out from a well, the rain overloaded the pump and the pump shutdown, the walls in our basement started to crack and water came rushing in, the power went off since the water came into the power outlets.
The water in the basement became 30 cm in 1 hour, and we have a huge basement.
Now, we called 112 A.K.A 911 and the operator said that they cant do shit because we did not have anything of value in the basement. After a while of no electricity and shit, pump cars started coming in and pumping out the water from all the houses on the street, and we just waited, then we got to know that we were not prioritized since other houses got sewage water coming from showers and toilets, over 500 houses got flooded, now our basement looks like shit and we have to do all the work :(
TL;DR Our basement got flooded and 112 didn't do shit

Here in Denmark we're getting a lot of rain now too, though my house lies on pretty high ground.

My friends basement also got flooded, and his room is there and it is made out of carpet floor, his room smells and looks like shit

My basement got flooded too. And it wasn't from rain either. Our hot water pipe burst. All the shit we had down there started to get moldy.. and we had to haul it out to the curb.. it smelled so bad.... /shudder
