I have to say, regardless of Battlefield 4's endless amount of complaints, it is a very nice looking game.

Dumb me all you want but outside of a few minor UI changes and some minor gameplay changes that's exactly what BF4 is. 10 years ago it would have been called an expansion pack.

You can equip a camo for vehicles which applies once you enter a vehicle. As far as I'm aware jets always spawn in the air and you can't just find them on runways, as such the game doesn't ever expect you to land one or jump out of and back into one. Looks to me like he spawned in the jet and it didn't apply his camo, and once he jumped out and back in it did. I don't know if it was a glitch, or if they just didn't intend for camos to be used on jets.

It's a bug in battlefield.
If you keep getting in and out of a jet/car/boat, it's paint changes.

The vehicle camos are pretty much the worst part of BF4. I hate it when I see a blue tank in the desert. Just.. Pisses me off, for some reason.

I don't really hate the camo system. When players make poor stylistic choices, it's easier to spot them. Plus Flat Snow makes my weapons and vehicles look like Apple products.
My vision tends to be based on movement, lasers and lock-on boxes anyway.
