This topic came up in conversation in the GMF and a few members wanted me to tell my boring ass story in the form of a thread, so here it goes.
Last year around May, Me and a couple of friends (HybridTheory was there) discovered an 'abandoned' fish plant. This place was massive so here's a picture from Google Street View.

That's just the front, behind it is guarded by the ocean, which leads us to how we got into the building in the first place.
All the front doors were locked so naturally we followed the barbed wire fence on the side down to the rocky shore, up the embankment and to a loading dock door, we managed to force open the door wooden doors and slip on through. When we got in it was awesome it looked like everyone just up and left the place there was still chips and pop on the office tables. Inside we found forklifts, fire extinguisher, plenty of power tools, computers, and more. Hybrid found a 13 inch dagger. (which caused everyone to go in to a fucking frenzy searching for something badass.)
After exploring the plant we left only to come back the next day with a 24 case of Budweiser, we rolled on down to the offices and hung out drinking our asses off. Obviously this is when the damage took place, we all went batshit crazy hitting every wall we seen with any object we could find to pick up (usually a crowbar, coat-rack etc) the place was trashed I didn't even notice one of my friends elbowed a huge window until he asked if we could go find a first aid box, which we did.
After that day we were in daily and more and more people were finding out about our little hang out place, word travels fast in a small town. Pretty soon the managers office was full of graffiti and couches, popper bongs and cases of beer, this routine went on for a couple of months we were having the time of our lives. Picture Left 4 Dead; that's what the plant was like at night time we loved exploring that shit.
And this is about when the Police came to my door, as I said word tends to travel fast through a small town and a few of us got ratted out. Didn't even bother denying it, left a fuck load of evidence there anyways. (Fun Fact: The arresting officer informed me it took their forensic team 2 days to cover everything we fucked up in there. That's how bad it was.)
We were set up with a Youth Justice meeting which is basically for any young offender, it can include the victim, young offender(s), parents, police officer, community representatives etc. This meeting was crazy, they showed us pictures of all the damage and graffiti we caused and we then discussed the situation and I had to go first.
"So John, when did most of the damage take place?"
"Probably when we got really drunk and stoned."
"Oh..so you were under the influence at the time?"
"Yes."
fuck
Long story short we all (like 8 of us) got slapped with 200 hours of community service. I thought this was gonna be the worst shit ever but it turns out to actually be pretty fun, I've been doing mine at a little place called Loaves&Fishes which is basically a community kitchen to feed the less fortunate and at the local volunteer fire department washing fire engines and shoveling their steps and parking lot. I've learned a lot from this whole experience and it feels good to pay back to the community for my mistakes, plus I get to put it in on my resume as volunteer work.
Might start doing some hours at the SPCA, we'll see what happens.
(Yes I realize how stupid my decisions were)
Don't really know how to end this soooo thank you for listening to my story I hope you enjoyed reading it.
never damage anything that doesnt belong to you/leave only footprints, don't tell others or let others know
Do you have any pictures of the inside?
No, but we may have to go back in the clean it up as part of the agreement terms, ill be sure to bring my camera. Somebody had some on facebook but we promptly told them to delete them.

Oh cool. Hooray for Canada!
A place like that I would love to explore and photograph, but fucking it up while on drugs and alcohol? nah.
yeah that was a big mistake, it was great to explore while it lasted. To be honest I didn't damage as much as the others, watched for most of it but I did cause some.
Me and a few friends are getting charged with burglary for going into an old abandoned middle school and "stealing" 3 guitars. You got off easy :\
Words of urbexers:"take pictures, leave nothing but footprints."
Or essentialy, don't be a fucking idiot.

Sounds like that place must of been fucking awesome to hang around before the police got involved.
