The bomb killed the officer, Murad Khan, and eight minors between the ages of 7 and 17. It wounded two more people, said police spokesman Haji Yaqoob of Khost province.
Now that is some heroism.
Fucking savagery over there. What a shame.
it's a shame there were still deaths
I don't think he made much of a difference. Didn't mythbusters do research on something similar to this?
R.I.P. brave man.
Fucking savagery over there. What a shame.
I SINCERELY hope you mean the bomber.
Batshit insane extremists. They need the firing squad not "rehabilitation". Oh wait, According to fp just "rehabilitate" everyone (that is if they don't blow themselves up first)
I don't think he made much of a difference. Didn't mythbusters do research on something similar to this?
Yeah they did, and they showed that jumping on a grenade/explosive does infact help shield the people around. (Season 5, Episode 11, Timestamp 28:45)
Did he at least lessen the amount of people that would have been injured, I'd hate to think that he sacrificed his life in vain. :(

If it's a regular HE concussion charge, less so, but still some; by dampening it with more soft tissue.
To be fair, some of the people here are correct. The middle East, or at-least parts of it anyway can be quite barbaric. Depending on the subject you are analyzing and comparing to the rest of the world. It's quite disgusting really. How some people can do such things as suicide bomb and kill many innocent people. Still sucks that parts of the world are like that though. And it's equally saddening that events such as this even do occur. [editline]9th March 2013[/editline] The suicide bombing I mean. Not the officers act. Although it is also sad that people would have to resort to such actions to protect other innocents from people such as the aforementioned suicide bomber.

Oh wait, According to fp just "rehabilitate" everyone (that is if they don't blow themselves up first)
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. [editline]9th March 2013[/editline] not to mention the fact that you know, nobody's crying for rehabilitation of a suicide fucking bomber. [editline]9th March 2013[/editline] generally suicide bombers are one-time offenders, love.
I fail to see how my points on society within some of the middle east is dumb, considering it's pretty widely accept to be what it is. So care to elaborate on your rating Starpluck. I'd be interested to know which part you disagree with.
Is there some kind of medel for going above and waaaaay beyond the call of duty they could posthumously reward him with? because if doesn't deserve one, i don't know what would...

This kind of heroism in Afghanistan really blows a man away.
This kind of heroism in Afghanistan really blows a man away.
There is a point where puns need to stop and we have clearly passed it

I salute to this man.
What a hero, huge respect to that man. Maybe he can set a exampel for the ANP, who are corrupt fucks who tend not to give a shit, lock people up for ransom and rape children.
Yes, everyone in Afghan sees suicide bombing as the correct thing to do.
Wiki on Islamic Suicide Bombing
All acts of war in Islam are governed by Islamic legal rules of armed warfare or military jihad. These rules are covered in detail in the classical texts of Islamic jurisprudence.[63] In orthodox Islamic law, jihad is a collective religious obligation on the Muslim community, when the community is endangered or Muslims are subjected to oppression and subjugation. The rules governing such conflicts include not killing women, children or non-combatants, and leaving cultivated or residential areas undamaged.[63][64][65] For more than a millennium, these tenets were accepted by Sunnis and Shiites; however, since the 1980s militant Islamists have challenged the traditional Islamic rules of warfare in order to justify suicide attacks.[63][64] Islamist militant organisations (including Al-Qaeda, Hamas and Islamic Jihad) argue that suicide operations are justified according to Islamic law, despite Islam's strict prohibition of suicide and murder.Militant Muslim groups that carry out suicide attacks say that they believe their actions fulfill the obligation of jihad against the "oppressor" and that they will be rewarded with paradise.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suicide_attack#Islam So would you like to tell me how much they like the U.S. and don't see us as opressors and subjagators? How there is no way they would think killing U.S. soldiers would get the U.S. out of their country. Does everyone in Afganistan hate him? No, nor did I say everyone did. However they are a muslim community and they, along with a few other cultures, see suicide bombings as a holy way to kill. Even though Islamic law has tenets that say suicide is bad it is believe by many in the region to be acceptable. And to denie someone his holy duty is seen as a sin.
