I started learning bit of IR photos. And well I have question:
What's the difference between these two IR filters? (Other than wavelength)

Is there any other difference other than that one of them is 760nm and other 720nm?
Which one is better for a shitty camera? (E-450 Olympus)
I have that 760nm, and well either I am too stupid to understand these things, or 760nm is blocking too much ?
Whenever I take pics with 760nm, settings are set to: f/8 and 60 seconds speed. ISO-100. It always seems ok when not processed (purplish) and when I just press auto levels, it becomes almost black and white and noisy.
Examples:

Are those even IR? - I have no idea.
SO would a lot change if I buy that HD 58mm R72 720nm IR? Or would it still be shit? Do I even have any chance of making clean, clear, no noise IR photo with Olympus E-450?
You wouldn't be using the infrared part of the spectrum at all - You still have an IR blocking filter in front of the sensor. All you'd be using is near-infrared (red) that gets through (thus the 60 second exposure). Get the 720nm one - it's closer to visible red.

Then again, it doesn't really matter much at all.
Ah well, worth a try. Will buy it. Also I was wondering, what if I buy some cheap DSLR working camera (without lens) and take the IR blocker out? Or if it's not 4/3 connector (lets say some other camera than olympus) could I use some kind of convertor? Or best would be to buy some cheap olympus with no lens and just use that for IR?
You'll need to do infrared conversion. It's not cheap (The whole camera needs to be disassembled, p much)

I see. Ah well I guess will have to cancel my idea with IR photos. Since there is absolutely no chance of me doing that.

:downs:
Seriously though, but an old 35mm SLR and shoot some IR film.
What about these tutorials then?

Are authors of those wafflers who lie about everything? Or do they just don't mention that those are pics with removed IR blocker?
