Carrie is a sweet but meek outcast whom Margaret has sheltered from society. Gym teacher Miss Desjardin (Judy Greer) tries in vain to protect Carrie from local mean girls led by the popular and haughty Chris Hargensen, but only Chris' friend, Sue Snell, regrets her actions. In an effort to make amends, Sue asks her boyfriend, high school heartthrob Tommy Ross, to take Carrie to the prom. After a cruel prank by her peers at the prom, Carrie is pushed to the limit and unleashes telekinetic havoc upon her classmates and the entire town.

Release Date: March 15, 2013

Director Kimberly Peirce
Media: Trailer:
Cast: Chloe Grace Moretz as Carrie White Julianne Moore as Margret White Judy Greer as Ms. Desjardin Gabriella Wilde as Sue Sneel
Really looking forward to this, Chloe Grace is pretty much my favorite actress, hope it turns out well.
Are Carrie and Sue supposed to be a similar same age? I like that they have cast an actual teenager for a teenage character but won't surrounding her with actors in their 20s make it look a bit strange?
Cool Chloe is great so I have high hopes for this.
Upon hearing about it, King stated "The real question is why, when the original was so good?" He also suggested Lindsay Lohan for the main role, saying that "it would certainly be fun to cast".[2]
Steven King, please stick to writing.
Have to agree, why? The original scared the fuck out of me when I watched it as a kid.
I highly, highly doubt this will surpass the 1976 original in any way, shape or form — or even live up to it, for that matter. That movie caught the spirit of the seventies perfectly, whereas this one already looks like an overdone, cheesy experiment. All in all, I'd say this'll be one of those "meh" hi-fi films that never live up to their titles.

Hot. Anyway. The casting does worry me a bit with how pretty looking the main character is though, wasn't she like very awkward and not very attractive in the book? I just think her personality might be a bit hard to explain if she's some sort of absolute bombshell and just typical "frizzy hair and no make-up" Hollywood ugly.

But we'll see, I have faith in her.
This looks horrible, none of the casting choices look like they'd work at all. I like Chloe Moretz and Julianne Moore as actresses but they both look seriously miscast here. I just recently rewatched the original and it's pretty much timeless. Worked just as well as it did all those years ago.
