Personally I love watching documentaries about odd personalities and situations, more than politic documentaries like "Bowling for Columbine" and that sort.
I love:

Man on wire.
A documentary about a frech artist, who's an excellent tightrope walker.
He sneaks into the World Trade Center, fires an arrow from one tower to the other, and dances around on the wire above New York City.
It's visually stunning, and the story is really intense at some points.
That french dude just bothers me a bit though. He's so full of himself..
On the other hand, how couldn't you?

Grizzly Man
Equally a story about a single man. This time it is about a guy who loves living outside with the bears, and he does so A LOT!
But does the bears really respect and love him, as he believes himself?
Or is he just making it all up?
Great movie!

Married to the Eiffel Tower

People who have loving relationships and sex with objects.
Koyaanisqatsi
It's technically considered a documentary so whatever.
I really enjoy WWII documentaries and WWII in general. Same with the Cold War. The gritty action just really touches me.
Those nature documentaries by David Attenborough.
Also known as the brother of John Hammond.

Looks really interesting. I gotta check that one out
man on wire is pretty much the best out there
I enjoy pretty much any history documentary the best ones are WWII ones through. Rockumentaries or whatever the hell you call them are usually pretty interesting as well.
Planet Earth is my favourite.
Also, Timothy Treadwell was a fucking moron and got what was coming to him.
Looks really interesting. I gotta check that one out
It's amazing. It doesn't have any spoken dialogue or any kind of narration, but it's amazing visuals mixed with amazing music makes it a really amazing watch.

Any Documentary by Louis Theroux.
Any documentary about nature and wild life. Specially Nigel Marven's
Bookmarkin' this shit
I don't watch too much documentaries but I just watched one about a pet cemetery called Gates of Heaven and it was really good.
Koyaanisqatsi has a great laid back quality, although you've gotta be in the right mindset to watch it, it's a long slow burn
Shooting Robert King is a great look into the world of the war photographer in the shades of grey of late 90's conflict.

A really interesting documentary about a Host Club in Japan. The guys get paid to date women, and some of the women become so obsessed with them that they resort to their own prostitution in order to pay for it. It's very good, I recommend it to anyone.

"For girls, we are products. We have fake love relationships... We sell dreams - that's our job."
I don't watch many documentaries but I liked The Devil and Daniel Johnston.
This Film Is Not Yet Rated.
Home Movie and Gonzo
I loved that Horizon documentary on infinity, it was full of awesome paradoxes and mind blowing consequences of infinity
I've seen atleast 20 ww2 docu's. Some completely and some just parts of. I really enjoy those.
Some ww1.
Couple others about war earlier in time.
I really enjoy docu's on warfare because to me there always seems to be something to learn. It's almost never ending it seems. Often because one docu compliments the other giving additional info about a certain event.
I don't have the names on those war docu's. I did like Moore's docu's and some about weed.
But i can't give you a specific name of my favourite. I just love docu's.
