iirc it's in limbo at the moment. all we know is that at some point it might come out on xbox arcade.

Apparently First Assault is a prequel to Battlefront with Call of Duty-like gameplay.
Battlefront 3 will be a true sequel.
Been waiting for this since 2005. It's just a shame it' probably won't really happen. The disney takeover placed it on a undetermined hiatus.

I wouldn't mind playing the fuck out of this.
Right now it's stuck in limbo with the Star Wars - Disney acquisition. A developer on the project is leaking tons and tons of gameplay/screenshots/renders to show Disney that there is an interest in this sort of Star Wars game and not in a sequel to Star Wars Kinect.

I don't get a sole Call of Duty vibe.
Rather, I get a few different games from that one video. You have the riot shieldy looking thing, weapons resembling Fuel Rod Cannons and Sentinel Beams from Halo get fired, at one point it almost seems like the Stormtroopers are pushing a cart style thing.
And then the scene at the start, after the helmet gets put on, is just Battlefront 1 and 2 all over. I think this is gearing up to be an amazing game really.
i dunno. i see some interesting ideas there. may as well give it the chance of day, at least. why not?
Finally a new game that isn't some Jedi/Sith shit. But if it is a console-exclusive, hooray...

If you played Battlefront you'd know that this will probably be more similar to Battlefield than Call of Duty. Not that that's a bad thing, of course
Battlefield version would be great, destructible terrain even better. The problem is I don't own a Xbox so I hope it will get a PC port in the future.
