God of War movie? - General

I saw that God of War 2010 is on imdb.com Do you think they could fuck that up? The game is action packed to the max but if they got a good director and a good budget could it work? Gerard Butler perhaps?

It's going to practically be 300 all over again. And the fanciest part of all, it will probably be entirely filmed in green screen. The only video game live action movie I look forward too is Infamous because I love that game. I'm sure they'll fuck that up too.

Green screening, blue sceening, as totaly killed modern movie making, you could make a lush, beutiful background, or even find a place, or you could film the entire movie in a closet using a computer. Its what makes movies memoriable is the fact that it actually had some time, effort and actual people in them.

Michael Bay will direct this, and fans will cry. Thus it was written, thus it will be.

But, GoW doesn't have any material to be made into a film. What, just an hour and a half of mindless killing?

They probably won't make it. There are a shit-load of games that have had their rights to a film bought by different companies but nothing ever comes of it. Look at the Metal Gear movie as an example.

If they were to follow the actual story of the first game (definitely a better story than the second) with why his skin is pale, etc. than this could be good. Otherwise I foresee failure.

I really want to say that this looks like it's going to be a good movie I really want to say that this looks like it's going to be a blockbuster But what I will say is that this looks like it's going to be a failure at the box office given Hollywoods running record with video game movie adaptations

well im sure they could easily base a movie off the first/second game (i forgot which one, never played them, just have a bit of knowledge on the story) anyways i think it was something to do with Kratos killing all these god or whatever to kill Zeus or something. man i dont know what im talking about but the point is a movie wouldnt be hard at all really. kinda like a one man 300 movie.
