Sony are doing everything right, and they're going to win this generation on the 'console war'.
As much as I think a lot of people are over-exaggerating and nitpicking the flaws of Microsoft, it is still obvious that they do not give a shit about their customers.
"We listened to what our consumers want and we did that and they liked us"
EA, Microsoft, etc can learn some lessons here.
This guy
I like this guy
The fact that he understands that console gamers aren't the ones that are holding up the mobile gaming market gives me faith in this guy and what he's doing.
It really feels like he understand what his target audience wants.
His point about keeping people in the market for games is important. Do we have people spend 60 dollars once every few months and hold onto them, or do we let them trade them around to people who are even less able to purchase new titles and the original customer can grab new games more often.
I am happy with this.
His comment about a more specific release date of the PS4 actually makes a lot of sense. Was already thinking why they just pinpoint a certain date.
Jesus he blinks a lot.
Seeing how the Xbox Done chose November, PS4 could launch anytime before and get a head start on them. I cant see how Microsoft fucked up this bad.
Wow Sony just doesn't stop saying the right thing. I think we're going to see another PS2 like era with the PS4.

Honestly though why has it taken companies this long to realise that maybe listening to your customers is a good idea. Why did we go through this stupid period were publishers seemed to believe that consumers should bend over for them, it was bound not to work considering how vocal gamers can be.
This guy seems pretty down to Earth. He talks in terms of facts and is pretty clear about what he is saying.
Most people in his position from other companies spout ambiguous crap about how they want to make "the console experience revolutionarily dynamic, free flowing and intuitive."
This guy is like "we listened to our customers, they wanted to trade used games, we let them trade used games."
I do hope the Xbox One crawls back up later on. Competition only makes the console better.

If they do well with the bullshit they're pulling then it'll only serve to hurt us
Sony what the hell, you go from consistent "worse public relations" in any interview or convention you go to to fucking golden tongues.

In his position at E3, he's probably been awake for a long fucking time

Only after they've learned from their mistakes.
Jack Tretton seems like a very level headed and likeable guy

EA came in 2nd place this year (interchangable with ubi/nintendo). Seems to me like EA is changing a new leaf because of their new member

You hear that sound?
That's the sound of Microsoft getting burned.
I wish the interviewer would ask them about their security system on the ps4 and what they learned from the major security leak that had been done to them.
It's the main reason why Sony picked up the pace compared to microsoft cause if sony fucked up this e3 they would be fucking done with.

holy fuck, you're right. definetly buying an xbox one now
The misattribution journalists/industry experts seem to have about smartphone/tablet games is that they are taking away potential clients from the consoles. When in fact, they are serving as gateways to the dedicated gaming systems by honing reflexes of the beginner gamer, and introducing various sets of learning curves that will, in turn, make it more feasible for the mobile consumer to adapt to the intimidating @home controller.
Interesting to see this man corroborate the truth with his experience in the industry.

You blink less when you're sleep deprived.

I was lucky enough to meet this guy and he's just as likable in person as shown here. Really level-headed, down to earth kind of guy and he really does care about and enjoy the products he promotes.
