That's not surprising. This happens a lot, criminals work as detectives, arsonists as firemen, etc. As a pedophile himself he would probably be very good at catching other pedophiles, and he would have inside knowledge which would help protect himself against law enforcement. I am glad that he admitted to his crimes rather than waste the court's money or risk re-offending by trying to fight it. Maybe his work made him aware of just how grim the industry of child pornography is, and he felt guilty. I've thought before that perhaps non-violent pedophiles could seek work in law enforcement after serving their sentences. That insider knowledge could be tremendously useful to investigators, and it's not like anyone would ever hire a known pedophile (even a non-violent one) any way else.

People who happeen to be firemen and like to start fires.. It happens..case here a firefighter started a field fire just so he could try and put it out. What ended up happening is his engine responded and one of his fellow firefighters got trapped in the fire and he left him behind. Needless to say the guy is in prison.
