I'm remember hearing about it at the time, a shame it was never released. It looks dated but still a realistic and historical shooter, which are rare.
Interesting. A few of my co-workers worked on that game, and there was certainly some internal issues going on as well. I don't want to say in fear of getting it wrong, but it wasn't just the publisher pulling out that caused them issues. Was neat seeing them in some of the office cuts :v:
Cwoar, this guys voice. The fucking early 2000s tho, everyone was throwing shade at video games, saying they ruined their children, shot up schools and killed their dog.
I reckon these days you could actually release such a game, I'd like to see the devs pick up the project again, or at least for some other dev to tackle the subject matter.
how likely is it for the development of the game to resume with a sufficiently large kickstarter?

Was there much controversy surrounding ARMA 2: Op Arrowhead when that came out? I know its set in a fictional country, but its basically Afghanistan, and that games got civilians and a pretty brutal representation of war in the middle east.
Holy shit, Breach? I never got to buy it but I had always wanted it
The media reaction to this shit is really hard to watch, what's worse is the feeling that we're not exactly much past this point so many years on. I remember Extra Credit's video giving their thoughts on this: https://youtu.be/LSm-UzWzO2E

It's sort of like how terrorists detonating a nuke in Modern Warfare wasn't even especially controversial, yet on the other hand no games would dare trying to tackle 9/11 for fear of the backlash, even now over 15 years after.
Holy shit, Breach? I never got to buy it but I had always wanted it
I bought it and played it quite a lot, it had so much potential but was awfully buggy and lacked polish. It felt like it should have had another year or two in development. Real shame, it had so much potential.
I highly doubt we're missing out on anything. If you've ever played the other military game they show off in the video (Close Combat: First to Fight), you probably remember how cheesy and terrible it was. Seeing the half assed Battlefield clone at the end doesn't give me much faith either.
Looking back I'm happy that the industry is past making bland looking modern shooters, Modern Warfare did so much damage to the medium.
Breach was the 3rd game i ever had on steam [t]http://i.imgur.com/L5F7xOf.png[/t] As you can tell i didnt play it much.. [t]http://i.imgur.com/VRSebio.png[/t]
