I don't understand the significance. Haven't we always been able to see lava?

This being a volcano there is a risk of this eruption being somewhat explosive causing a lot of ash that can stop air traffic in Europe like happaned a few years ago.

Visible as in it's coming out of the earth in places where it wasn't before. It means that pressure is building up, and you can guess what happens after that.

Yeah well uh, problem is that it affects everyone living in Europe that has to fly to work/home.

The issue isn't the lava itself, the issue is that if lava is coming out of this specific Volcano, it's gonna create another situation where many aerial corridors are closed, preventing many flights, for an undetermined (and random) period if time.

lava coming out of a volcano is also awesome.

Iceland's a bit far away there buddy. I think your trip will be fine.
how do you pronounce that
It's kinda chill just keeping the livestream on my second monitor.
how do you pronounce that
You don't.

Bau-r-tha-bunga
If you were speaking at a regular speed, though, it'd probably be more like "bar-da-bunga".
I wouldn't presume to vocaroo the pronunciation, given that we have at least one Icelander in the thread, whom I'd trust a damn sight more than me.
It's considerably easier than Eyjafjallajökull, at any rate.

Good man, pick up your best shovel and just start shoveling the lava like crazy.

Also to be completely honest, I'm thankful for Iceland for having an even more fucked up language than the Finnish language.
And then that place will become a sightseeing spot for tourists..
