From a technical standpoint, I don't think the dirt can hurt the plane (while taking off that is), because the engines are blowing everything back.
Look kind of heavy loaded.
All it needed was Highway to Hell to start playing when it took off.

Why do you think it would hurt any more if it didn't blow the dirt back..?
Aside from getting on the windscreen (but it has wipers anyway)
The danger here is the extra resistance from the water...it might have not been able to gain enough speed to take off

Mainly getting in the engines is what I thought about.
when the plane was taking off all i could think of was

i fly in real life and that dirt can do extreme damage to the prop if it has small pebbles or hard sand grains in it, it of course wont make it explode straight up but it can cause paint chips on the prop or planes surface causing rust, due to the anode/cathode circuit being completed.
This doesn't look safe.
I guarantee he rutted the entire runway and pissed off every other pilot who had to land there that day.
