Class is a YA series set in contemporary London. Incredible dangers are breaking through the walls of time and space, and with darkness coming, London is unprotected. With all the action, heart and adrenalin of the best YA fiction (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Hunger Games), this is Coal Hill School and Doctor Who like you’ve never seen them before.
Oh no
i wonder if it iwll be as bad as doctor who
Just as Torchwood got going and became popular with the mainstream audience with CoE they pulled the plug and re-invented the show and almost ignored everything that made it good, which ultimately killed the show. And now instead of trying to repair the damage they did the BBC seems content on releasing this? /nerdrant
There was a BBV video series that was a spinoff to doctor who of a spin off branch that just did paranormal, really bad. Will Class outclass that, likely. Thanks Moffat.

I really wanted to see where they went next with it.

My favorite episode was the airplane that came to the future.
Hey, I thought Miracle Day was really good. I really wanted to see where they went next with it.
I can see how some people might have enjoyed it, but I personally did not. I liked the philosophy behind how the governments of the world were trying to deal with the miracle and the perceived outcomes of it (Overpopulation, lack of food, health care system in shambles, crime and death meaning nothing now, et cetera). I did not however like the butchering of Jack as a character nor Ray becoming Immortal much like Jack when Ray clearly did not succumb to the same effects Jack did. And don't even get me started as to how The MBlessing exists when the planet itself is formed due to the Racnoss.
Hmmm I wonder if clara will be in it

That said, the whole "Rex becoming immortal" thing was from him [sp]being pumped full of Jack's blood to protect it from being destroyed and that was at the very end of the series, which is why for most of it he was also immortal when everyone else was, when he still had his own blood. Remember how Jack's blood was what kicked this whole thing off.[/sp] And I don't remember them butchering Jack's character...
Hmmm I wonder if clara will be in it
Probably. It's called Class, and Clara is a school-teacher, as well as she's being kicked off the show soon. Makes sense.

If Jacks blood had anything to do with him being immortal he would have died when the Daleks incinerated him.[/sp]
what's the issue with making a more young adult focused spin-off of an already non-adult show?
It's just my biasness is all. I'm sure there will be people who really enjoy this new show, and maybe I will like it. I would have liked to have seen a bit more effort in trying to get Torchwood off of the ground again.
Torchwood and Doctor Who (starting from 2005 at least) were always pretty consistent. For example, in the first series of Torchwood you occasionally see "Vote Saxon" posters, in reference to Harold Saxon/The Master from Doctor Who. Then an American company got involved with Miracle Day, and Moffatt took over Doctor Who. Only gone downhill from there.

It wasn't exactly ignored.
You're making the mistake of assuming Miracle Day actually happened. I was sure to wipe it from my memory immediately.
