• Tutorial section?

Why isn't there a tutorial section? I think a lot of people could benefit from it, I mean its not a secret hidden idea they must have given it some thought and decided not to make one, but why?
lurk more
Because everyone is smart and educated in everything and doesn't need to learn anything since they already know everything. Right.
We used to have a tutorial section. Never used properly.
Because a so universal place would be overfloated with fanboy posts and overall shit posting. If you wanna make a tutorial on how to make a dishwasher out of grapes, do it in the hardware section. If you wanna make a tutorial on how to turn a cola bottle into a perfect guitar, do it in the music section. It's that simple.
That is a ridiculous analogy, I for one would like to have an open source of information other then posting in the lua/modeling section and waiting 9 hours for a response.

Yeah that's great tell people to go on a more populated forum, and where would I find a more populated garrys mod forum?
I think it would be much more practical to have a tutorial section in facepunch. I lurked around facepunch for a year and never bothered to join until this month. :downs:

yes an unmoderated forum filled with crap.
I'd have to say no. People are supposed to learn how Facepunch works with our "friendly" moderators who show you what Refugee Camp looks like.
bitchin
I'd have to say no.
What the hell does that even mean?
Since you can't understand, when you get banned it's supposed to teach you what not to do in Facepunch (troll/make dumb threads/meme replies/etc..). If you don't get banned, you're doing the right thing. Isn't it obvious?
Well seeing how I edited my post before you finished yours I concur that I win, as for not what to do your still making no sense, not even staying on topic. edit, gotta go, will be back.
yes an unmoderated forum filled with crap.
As I said, we used to have the section.
Thread closed.
Thanks for that insightful post, never used properly? what is on this website most of the time the its pretty hectic, that's why this website has moderators.
There should be one, but it would not be bitchin'. Make more objective polls next time.
There is one, you can still post there
what is on this website most of the time the its pretty hectic, that's why this website has moderators.
Sorry, what?
Yeah that was pretty bad it was late, what I meant is a lot of stuff on this website does not work the way it was intended and a lot of forums have people posting incorrect material in them, how would a tutorial section be any different.
The section will die if you let it. Why let it, then never use it because it was dying? Well who's fault is that?
Not a good idea.
Good idea

You came here asking why, and then proceeded to try and make people change their minds. You will not succeed. Write your tutorials in the sections they apply to. I guarantee you will get a lot more interest that way, because the people who regular the section that the tutorial is posted in are the ones who are going to be responding to it. Creating a new section would be interesting but I doubt I would go out of my way to sift through it for tutorials I want.
Are you talking about tutorials in general? or Gmod tutorials?
Well I would imagine like in some of the forums there would be sub directories for specific things, I don't mean tutorial on how to be a badass or some of the stupid things they have in the custom tutorials useful posts.
As killerteacup says, just use the section, there ain't really a need for a specific tutorial subsection.
