Ok so my band was supposed to play a show this weekend but our lead guitar player quit. Me and another friend are going to do an acoustic set so we don't leave the guy hanging. Can you guys name some songs we can do? It's a 45 minute set
Tangled up in blue.
Heart Of Gold
Eh, i'm not a big Bob Dylan fan
Should be :smug:
Do some Nick Drake.
Nick Drake is amazing as above poster suggested. Phil Ochs is also great if you like anti-war, political songs:
Wish You Were Here. It's really easy to play. I wouldn't worry if you don't have a 12 string.
One of Nirvana's unplugged songs might work.
Angel of Death (Unplugged) - Slayer

Also, I believe it is possible to play all of Windowpane by Opeth on an acoustic or a clean electric. I hope not. Because I really can't. The music bores me, their voices bore me, and I couldn't care less what they have to say because I find everything about them so uninteresting.
Are you being serious?
Yes. I just don't like them. It's nothing against classics or them not being "METAL" enough or anything retarded like that...I just don't like their voices and do not find the music interesting either.
William Elliot Whitmore!

But I guess everyone can't like them.
Acoustic Alchemy (band) is pretty chill... if you guys are gonna play new-agey kinda music
Depends on whether you can both play guitar/can both sing. June by Spock's beard is mostly for 2 acoustics, and works with just 1 harmony line and without any other instruments. Joshua Radin is pretty amazing, as is Jose Gonzalez.

To be honest, its not entirely your fault. Their music can be hard to get into due to the times having changed. I don't find it in myself to be pissed off at a person while listening to them, I'd even listen to Charles Manson's music! He's a sadistic murderer making music in jail!
When you listen to this album for the first time, absolutely everything you knew about music will be blown away. For your own good, give this a listen. The most fantastic album I have ever had the pleasure of listening to

Truth is, the guy just cannot sing. Great actual music though.
October Tide - Dear Sun. Really fucking gloomy song.

But then again, he did sing when he put his country voice on for nashville skyline. Again, people having problems with being pissed off with the individual doesn't justify an opinion about their talents.

Because the sound irritates me. And I'm only ever listening to the radio in the car so being irritated already leads to fits of road rage very easily. BUT ANYWAY How can somebody who can't sing have a great voice? This I would really like to have explained, because that makes no sense.
It's hard to tell, because I don't know what you're going for. Bon Iver has some very pretty acoustic material. See, a lot of the prettier acoustic songs I know of have female singers, so... but hey, what about Take On Me? That could be broken down into a pretty acoustic, if you've got the right voice. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun acoustic could be a crowd hit. If you've got the voice, Season Poem by Gregory and the Hawk is very pretty. It could just be taken down an octave or so. Hearbeats by Jose Gonzalez is simple and also very touching. If I'm on the right track I can give you more, but I don't know if I'm giving you what you're looking for.

He can sing, obviously but his voice can't be compared to the likes of someone who expresses differently. Its not politics, have I ever said that I am mad at a sound produced by an artist? :smug:
