“We’ve gone beyond the point where these are just creatures in movies. “We now have the technology and the ability to make new characters entirely.”
Now this is looking good
I hope the movie takes a more Horde-based turn, it's generally been a more interesting faction with the Burning Legion plot points and the fact that people there literally cannot stop betraying eachother.
Great HD orc titty.
Holy shit.
I pray to whatever high Being that might exist that they do not fuck this movie up. I've been waiting too long already!
I really hope the movie doesn't retcon things explained in the books and WoW.

It's been stated that both factions get the same amount of screentime.

Don't raise your expectations too high. It's a Video Game Movie, they're bound to get a few things wrong. Just enjoy it for what it is and it'll be fine.

This looks fucking incredible, but it is a still image. If the motion looks janky the detail won't matter.

Well the Doomhammer already has the Frostwolf emblem on it (which shouldn't happen until Thrall gets it), the concept art had flying Dalaran (which didn't fly until WotLK), and also "For the Alliance!" (the Alliance wasn't formed until the second war).
So yeah, already plenty of mistakes.
I've always wanted to watch a movie of beautiful Blizzard cinematics. The Starcraft 2 opening cinematic is one of my favorites of all time.
Heck, even the ending scene from Reign of Chaos with Thrall and Grom looked amazing at the time.
I actually know very little about this movie. Are they going for full CGI movie or the humans will be played by humans?

Humans played by people, Orcs played by people with Avatar-style motion capture CGI.

Opening cinematic for the first starcraft is best imo, sweet jesus I would love to see a well made starcraft movie.
Looks interesting. Gotta wait for more.
will there be night elves in this movie?
Still glad Legendary Pictures has picked up this movie, they always seem to pick up movie ideas that are somewhat fresh.
The film portrays the origin story of the initial encounters between the humans and the orcs, with an emphasis upon both the Alliance's and the Horde's sides of their conflict. Featuring characters such as Durotan and Lothar, the film will take place in a variety of locations established in the video game series.
Oh and for the peeps wondering what the plot is going to be.
will there be night elves in this movie?
Nah. Night Elves don't appear until the Third War, which is ~20 after the First War.

Depends on whether or not the movie's story includes the Well of Eternity I guess.

I'm pretty sure they're deliberate, they probably just wanted to add all the cool and memorable things from WC even if it meant changing up the lore a bit.
Considering the details, they talked about it at Blizzcon.
"Chris Metzen has compared the film to Marvel Comics' Ultimate line, in that the broad story is what fans know and love but the details are different. The Ultimate line is non-canon for the core Marvel universe per the Marvel wiki, so therefore the film is not canon for the core Warcraft universe. The movie has been described as a war story, but one told from the viewpoints of both sides."

Good thing is, everyone who saw the unfinished trailer at Blizzcon thought it looked incredible in motion.
"Wait till you guys see them in action. At Blizzcon when they showed us the "sneak peek" at a trailer, the orcs and everything else just looked amazing. The emotion the orcs can portray blew everyone away."
This movie has a huge potential, I just hope they wont overdo it with huge battles that last for like two hours like in LOTR 2 and 3. I like it more when they take time to show this fantasy world to the audience, the people and races, landscapes and stuff (like LOTR 1 was).
I know very little about the lore. So continuity errors don't bother me :v:

Just seems like they're adding a bunch of WoW references with no reason other than fan service.
Also high res versions.

Get a load of that nose hair
i mean the last expansion was pretty much "remember all these cool characters? ok ~time travel magics~ now you get to meet them"
fixed that for you
Snip
so this is going to shit all over Warcraft 1 and 2 isn't it
so this is going to shit all over Warcraft 1 and 2 isn't it
Why would it?
they modified the dark portal to take them to another reality of draenor
the dark portal uses the twisting nether to skirt reality and move you across the universe
twisting nether magix
if there's any plot device that is overused it would be corruption and Old Gods
especially when used together *shudder*
