I'm just going to copy & paste what I said in the shacknews post on this: At one point the map says "Every betrayed us all" and after searching that last name up, I found out that there was a seventeenth century pirate named Henry Every who is famous for having actually kept all of his treasure until his death. Another thing he did was attack and ransack the royal fleet and flagship of the Mughal emperor of India. He also apparently operated around the Indian ocean and Caribbean Sea, so it would be a good bet that the game will possibly take place in and around India, Africa, and the Caribbean which is very interesting. The map also shows Madagascar and the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa, which further reinforces that.
please have the main protagonist be nathan drake voiced by nolan north please have the main protagonist be nathan drake voiced by nolan north

To me it sounds like we may be swapping time periods since the narrator in this sounds like he may have been in Henry Every's crew. That or they full-on ditched modern times in favour of a story based around the actual pirates. I hope they didn't though due to the fact that the new Assassin's Creed takes place in almost the exact same time period, and would follow a similar narrative due to that.
At least we know what will win every category in the VGA's.
The thing with the Uncharted series is that they've just steadily gotten better. Naughty Dog once said they'd keep making the games until people don't want them anymore, and that's fine by me when they hold this sort of standard.
They'd have to pull a BioWare to fuck up this series.

I hope the plot doesn't progress in the same direction as the previous three... Hell, Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 both did the same thing. [sp]Character gets kidnapped, get on plane/train, crash plane/train, get stuck in desert/snow, get rescued by natives, find hidden city, discover treasure is really something evil that makes monsters, blow it all up and escape.[/sp] Find actual treasure for once.

I think it's the style they are going for, the indiana jones vibe. And honestly I am completely fine with it since every game so far in the uncharted series has gotten better and better.
Buying a PS4 for this definitely...fuck so excited.

I mean, it'd serve no purpose to argue for believability for a game like Uncharted, especially when it pulls off the "over the top" so well, but I'm itching for a treasure hunt that ends with actual treasure. And I think they can do that while holding onto the Indiana Jones vibe.
I am excited to see how this will look like in-game, Naughty Dog was able to push the PS3 hardware to the limit, can't wait to see them do the same for PS4
If pirates get involved, I'm bettin' money on reanimated skeletons at one point.
some stuff from a reddit thread "The person narrating appears to be Robert Drury, an English sailor who was shipwrecked and lived as a slave for 15 years off the coast of Madascar in the early 1700's. This would fit with his statements about being trapped for fifteen years, and the map showed a journey of some kind to Madagascar. The only thing that doesn't fit is what he said about being buried alive, but this could just be a metaphor." so you're either going to be playing as drury or sir francis drake probably

It could be that it is someone who identifies with Drury the same way Nate identifies with Francis, (edit: or what the guy above me said,) but I was recalling the final scene in Uncharted 3 and it did feel kind of...well, "final." As well, this new thing isn't directly numbered, and it's debuting on a new console, I would say it's definitely possible they'll move to another protagonist or another time completely.

This could turn out to be literally what happened. As in, not a metaphor.
Why is it being called just Uncharted instead of Uncharted 4? It's like, a really new franchise. You can't pull that bullshit until there's at least 7 games or 10 years since the last one.

But then again, if it has nothing to do with nathan drake or his story arch then maybe it being called Uncharted instead of Uncharted 4 is a good idea.
i'd be absolutely fine with the narrator being an old, angry, nathan drake. i wouldn't mind seeing a different direction in the character. they must have learned a lot about serious dialogue and drama from making the last of us
What if, your playing as Sir Francis Drake in Uncharted 4? Or have I gone too far back? I don't really know my Uncharted, only managed to play the first one and that was years ago, I should really get to blitzing through them, as well as Last of Us.
What if, your playing as Sir Francis Drake in Uncharted 4? Or have I gone too far back?.
Wow that'd be like Assassin's Creed with PIRATES! What a great idea, someone should pitch it to Ubisoft
man if PS4 keeps getting killer exclusives I'll need to pick one up, son of a bitch.

What is with everyone trying to drop numbers from sequels lately? [editline]15th November 2013[/editline] Also the narrator reminds of Michael C. Hall. Like too much.
Or ya know it's a work in-progress title since this is only a damn teaser. I think people are thinking way too hard about the title. I mean shit, before Thief was Thief it was Thi4f for its first teaser.
I don't know. Maybe. None of these games have shown their faces since their reveal either. And I forgot Thief was a reboot so I guess that doesn't count.
The title looks like it's going for the whole gritty thing, and it kinda reminds me of the Tomb Raider remake logo.

I don't care, if this game will be called Uncharted or Uncharted 4 or Uncharted: unknown title, I just know it's going to be another EPIC adventure that stays in your heart forever.
