Banjo Kazooie style speech?

I've got a video project I was recruited on and I'd like to set up a Banjo Kazooie style speech emulation for it.
Just something that selects random samples from an audio file.

Is that how Banjo-Kazooie's speech worked? You learn something new every day.

Yeah, I learned about it from the composer. The samples are semi-randomized parts of speech. I.E. Eekumbokum comes from a very garbled "Come and have a go if you think you're hard enough"
