I've been putting up with a horrable father for the last 14 years of my life. I've been abused to the point where I needed consuling. I'm sick and tired of him, I've asked multiple of my friends, and they all have agreed that my dad is a bad father. Is it legal under the circumstances of being abused as of a child.
Is it legal for an 18 year old to adopt a 14 year old.

He lives in Canada, the laws are different there
I am adopted, from birth that is. To answer your question you can call child services and the will come over and chat with you and the family. From there they will decide what to do next.

I think you have to be 21 to adopt, in Canada 18 is the age I think. Also not sure about every state, and also ^
The father has to have his parental rights revoked which involves a long and tedious court process.
Talk to another adult such as a school teacher or administrator. Trust me, it will feel much better knowing that they are trying to do something about it and you're not alone.

It doesn't work that way. IF you're being abused it needs to be documented by the police or child protective services. It has to be bad enough and documented case with proof, otherwise it is your word against his. Usually you're put in a foster home that takes care of you for the mean while. Though if you go to court you can be come emancipated - but is is difficult. Once your emancipated you can live and do whatever you wish.
