i came in expected it to just be a title, but okay, it being a torn, black and white photo, the kerning of the word S I L E N T, and the crosses on her face, the way it cuts to weird imagery, there is no way this singer accidentally just did all of that. bizarre
What of this is just something originally meant for Silent Hills but since the game is cancelled they decided to release it as an original song?
Lots of possible references that could or could not be connected at all, looking at her music history it seems that death and suicide are not exactly an uncommon theme.
However the fact it is called Silent Hills and the lettering is spaced like that ...
My guess is this song was given a music video by a producer (or herself) who likes the theme of Silent hill if not the games and it's just a hommage or she was asked to make a song for the game by Kojima.

there was some posts on ruweb about previous collaboration with kojima, soo who knows.
Damn this got me good. I loved T.a.T.u when i was younger, but somehow completely forgot about them. This is a nice song and interesting link to PT.
Don't want to be a "no-fun-allowed" person, but i'm pretty sure it's just a friendly ruse by the Tatu group since probably they liked PT/Silent hills and decided to make a song about it, and now just go with the flow of what people assume.
But who knows if there is more to this?
If silent hills truly comes back I'd be legit hyped. Saddly I can't take this as "its back". Though this sounds like an end credits song.

If thats the case, why'd it take so long? Silent Hills was cancelled over 2 years ago.

Why, if Kojima did somehow get the rights to Silent Hill, would he intend on marketing via a one-hit wonder band?
Either something postponed the release of the song (I.E admin clusterfuck after cancelling the game) or the person responsible for making the video decided to fuck with people purely because of a coincidental title and the band has nothing to do with it directly.

Probably because he liked the band if that were the case.
Plus MGSV was first announced as an indie title from some random swedes, Silent Hills itself was hidden as an indie PSN title, and Death Stranding has those dog tags hidden in Horizon Zero Dawn in just such a position as to read the remaining equations on them not visible in the trailer, so he's been into doing some weird shit marketing recently.
