Will be a sequel to the first film instead of a prequel but will also show how Xerses came to power. I think it's looks brilliant.
As silly as the idea of another 300 movie, I'll probably still watch it since 300 had some of the coolest vfx. And while the trailer is neat, I have no idea what going on. Lots of slow motion and fire. And all the titles reminded me of Harry Potter.
looks like a fun movie
It's missing that over-the-top Frank Miller style, that's what bought me on the original.
The first movie looked great in the theater and on dvd, but the blue-ray version has such intense film grain it's gross. I hope they don't do that for this one.
This looks badass, I really like the music, it just adds epicness
More awesome over the top Greek/Persian battles? I'm sold.
The film centers on Themistocles and Artemisia I of Caria, as well as Xerxes I of Persia. The Battle of Artemisium was a naval engagement, concurrent with the battle of Thermopylae, and was fought between an alliance of Greek city-states and the Persian Empire in September 480 BC, in the straits between the mainland and the northern tip of the island of Euboea (modern Evvia). The film will probably also focus, in part, on the Battle of Salamis, in which Artemisia played a major role, as well as possibly the Battle of Marathon. The Battle of Salamis (home of the mythical hero Ajax) was fought after the Persian Empire had advanced into southern Greece and occupied Athens. The film will also cover some of the backstory of Xerxes, and will explain how he became "the god King"
Also while the Spartans fight the Persians on the ground, this film will show off the naval engagements of the Athenians against the Persians.
I'll still see it, but it'll be an entirely different movie than the first. Gerard Butler did a very good job as Leonidas in the original, it'll be interesting to see how they make up for him.
Damn Cersei you're really going all out this time
The first one I found fucking brilliant in my opinion. It was over the top, but the atmosphere of the movie actually overshadowed that for the most part, which I absolutely love. [editline]10th July 2013[/editline] Also reminds me of GoT for some reason.
Damn Cersei you're really going all out this time
I'd still fuck her.
I can't wait for the internet to explode with this is sparta jokes for years to come.
I quite enjoyed the first, I'm sure I'll enjoy the second.
Also while the Spartans fight the Persians on the ground, this film will show off the naval engagements of the Athenians against the Persians.
I love hot trireme-on-trireme action, but no Battle of Plataea?
I love hot trireme-on-trireme action, but no Battle of Plataea?
Well that battle took place after the other battles that will be seen in this film so maybe it'll be in the final part of the film?
