An active on-site shooter has been reported at Fort Lee Army base in Virgina, forcing it into lockdown and leading the base to enact active shooter protocols. “Active shooter incident reported at CASCOM HQ, Bldg. 5020. All personnel enact active shooter protocols immediately. Post on lockdown,” the Army base tweeted. But yeah, not a lot of news on it yet, so sure more news will come through out the day.
Here we go again. It sucks because believe it or not, military bases are pretty much the largest gun free zones in the US. Ft. Lee is also densely populated with a lot of privates doing their initial job training.
I think it's already over. Last I heard the lockdown was over. [editline]25th August 2014[/editline] As of 5 minutes ago [editline]25th August 2014[/editline]
"All personnel enact active shooter protocols immediately." thats some dystopian sounding shit right there
video games did this
"All personnel enact active shooter protocols immediately." thats some dystopian sounding shit right there
We have a certain protocol to follow when an active shooter is reported. It's the same thing as one of those intruder drills you did at school, just with a different wording and on a massive scale.
video games did this
No, it was the illuminati
It's the same thing as one of those intruder drills you did at school, just with a different wording and on a massive scale.
never had to do anything remotely like that because that sounds like some dystopian sounding shit too
Hopefully no one was hurt or killed.
No, it was the illuminati
It was the Lizard people from planet X that controlled the illuminati, that had obama put a message into a random video game to have the shooter do this. Anyways, I hope no one got killed or hurt even.
It really shouldn't be hard for military bases to have heavily armed security - no one would bat an eyelid at it.
never had to do anything remotely like that because that sounds like some dystopian sounding shit too
It's just preparedness training, just in case something like this happens. It's basically shelter in place, get full accountability of people, the MPs mobilize, and the gates are secured. Just a series of steps to automatically do if the worst happens. There's a protocol for everything.

Sounds like it got controlled fairly well [editline]25th August 2014[/editline]
I understand the concept about what happens and why don't worry you don't have to over explain everything to do with the military SKEEA.
Stop coming into threads just to piss people off
It really shouldn't be hard for military bases to have heavily armed security - no one would bat an eyelid at it.
Do they not already? I mean military bases in the UK always have armed guards on patrol and armed MPs on standby. But there was all that IRA problem a while back.
It really shouldn't be hard for military bases to have heavily armed security - no one would bat an eyelid at it.
Well, we don't, surprisingly enough. The force is reactionary, with the mp's being called then they bring the armed security. Stuff like this is rare
Stop coming into threads just to piss people off
Thats not what I'm doing stop being so sensitive. If what I've said has pissed you off, then the problem is with you. (User was banned for this post ("Threadshitting" - Craptasket))
Do they not already? I mean military bases in the UK always have armed guards on patrol and armed MPs on standby. But there was all that IRA problem a while back.
The only people typically armed on base, are MP in their security cars, and the security at the gate. Anyone else needs permission of the base commander to have a weapon on base in most cases. Some have exceptions though. Its also fair to point out that a lot of civilians tend to frequent military bases as well due to them being family of the service member or a contractor for the government. So the amount of unarmed to armed people is very skewed.
Thats not what I'm doing stop being so sensitive. If what I've said has pissed you off, then the problem is with you.
"being prepared is dystopian" "training to survive during an active shooter scenario is dystopian" "wow stop being a tryhard trying to educate me SKEEA" "wow you're so oversensitive" just fyi acting like a drooling retard isn't trolling
It really shouldn't be hard for military bases to have heavily armed security - no one would bat an eyelid at it.
Seriously? Why is this not a thing. There should be heavily armed, heavily armored, and intensely trained guards at all army bases. Yes, go get an AR from the armory and try to do a mass shooting, you'll be met with the same treatment. [editline]25th August 2014[/editline]
Thats not what I'm doing stop being so sensitive. If what I've said has pissed you off, then the problem is with you.
Oh look! Gentry is being a jackass again! Did you guys know that fire is hot and the sky is blue?
I understand the concept about what happens and why don't worry you don't have to over explain everything to do with the military SKEEA.
I, for one, am glad SKEEA is here to provide context to civies like me.
video games did this
No, it was a false-flag operation with crisis actors and fake gunmen orchestrated by Obama so he can get support for mass gun confiscation programs!
Well, we don't, surprisingly enough. The force is reactionary, with the mp's being called then they bring the armed security. Stuff like this is rare
Except there have been shootings on mainland US bases each year for several years now. You've had four in as many years. [editline]26th August 2014[/editline]
Do they not already? I mean military bases in the UK always have armed guards on patrol and armed MPs on standby. But there was all that IRA problem a while back.
Mainland US bases don't normally get attacked while the IRA is well known for mortaring the local British Army barracks once in a while.
"All personnel enact active shooter protocols immediately." thats some dystopian sounding shit right there
It's on an army base dog.
never had to do anything remotely like that because that sounds like some dystopian sounding shit too
So in Britain, you avoid security stuff like this because it sounds dystopian. Got it.
It's just preparedness training, just in case something like this happens.
So in Britain, you avoid security stuff like this because it sounds dystopian. Got it.
Not really, we just don't practice intruder drills or anything in schools.
Not really, we just don't practice intruder drills or anything in schools.
I'm sure you or your parents have at some point practiced a duck-and-cover drill or a fire drill. Don't act like your country is free from harm or violence. [editline]25th August 2014[/editline]
never had to do anything remotely like that because that sounds like some dystopian sounding shit too
I don't think you understand what the word "Dystopian" actually means.
1 person shot themselves. There are no other reported injuries. This wasn't an active shooter situation, and it's over.
