Speaking in an interview with GameSpot, Miyazaki was asked if he has given any thought to expanding the Souls series beyond fantasy and into other genres such as sci-fi. "Dark Souls is my life’s work," he replied. "EVERYTHING I CAME UP WITH FOR DARK SOULS 3 IS BASED ON MY PERSONAL PREFERENCES. However, Dark Souls 3 is also actually the turning point for the franchise." Pressed on whether he would explore the sci-fi or mech genres, perhaps by applying the Souls framework to them, Miyazaki said he "definitely wants to bring the Miyazaki Touch" to them.
Source http://www.gamespot.com/articles/dark-souls-creator-planning-to-launch-several-new-/1100-6429589/ Sci-fi souls can't come soon enough [t]http://i.imgur.com/1tLvIG1.jpg[/t]
Didn't they already work at multiple projects when Bloodborne was being developed? Either way, I'm intrigued. Though as much as I respect his personal preferences, I hope he takes user feedback in mind, especially with how the instant backstab feature is being used once again in DaS3, although it came as a huge detriment for PvP in Dark Souls 1.

As long as level design and overall feel of the game is comparable to the first Dark Souls I'd play just about any "Souls framework" game. It's a very solid foundation to build off of IMO.

Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong when he's directing. He knows what he wants in his dungeon crawlers.
Get your fat ass working on AC6 pretty please
Armored Core on PC is all I want in life, and a working controller to play Dark Souls with. I hope Miyazaki can help me with both but I'd gladly accept just the first one.
While I like his work I'm starting to get the feeling that From Soft are relying too heavily on this one guy.

Or alternatively, a cyberpunk Souls-like game that takes place in a relatively modern "Neo-Tokyo", or hell even a successor to Bloodborne that takes place during a Roaring Twenties/Great Depression kind of setting to emphasise the Lovecraftian nature of the Bloodborne universe.
Bring back Metal Wolf.

Some of his ideas don't translate too well into actual gameplay - there are quite a lot of examples of this, looking at some of the bosses and levels in his games. This is not to say that he's bad, of course; I can't think of a lot of games that managed to convey that certain dark atmosphere like Dark Souls 1. And that's honestly enough to excuse the subpar optional PvP content or terrible experiences like Blighttown.
Bring back Metal Wolf.
Just looked that up, it sounds a lot like if George Bush and Raiden had a kid who grew up to be a mech pilot. The main plot is that the President of the United States is fighting against a coup d'état orchestrated by his vice president, by flying around in a badass mech.
It feels like they gave someone else a shot with DS2 which had some problems but was still really good. But everyone latched onto the fact that Miyazaki didn't work on it so they shat all over it.
Still waiting on Armored Core 6, Miyazaki.

But everyone latched onto the fact that Miyazaki didn't work on it so they shat all over it.
that's not the reason people bash DS2. it was a very good game, but very flawed and in a lot of ways it was cheap compared to DS1. a lot of sections of the game just spawn gratuitous amounts of enemies or give enemies ridiculous damage instead of making them actually challenging and cunning enemies. a lot of decisions made for the game were just obvious mistakes. all that and the hit detection is calculated in a very shallow, cheap way compared to DS1.
My dream scenario would be if they did a present day survival horror themed game. Just imagine a game like Silent Hill made by Miyazaki with Soulslike combat and RPG elements... Oh man.
'Mech genre?' Could it be the one we've all been waiting for, Chromehounds 2?
If they made Armored Core more like Bloodeborne, they would be making it easier. Bloodborne had difficult boss fights sometimes but the fights were at least fair Wait a minute, this guy already directed Armored Core games. He directed Armored Core 4 and For Answer which really explains why the combat is so similar to that of Bloodborne's

Better yet, have one based around the Mayan Calendar's 2012 "End of the World" theory and have the protagonist be a male/female conspiracy theorist with ties to the military. The weapons could be knives, machetes, and heavy armaments with bosses ranging from dues with miniguns, rifles, tanks, and mutated soldiers/demons that were created in secret by nations or cults worldwide. It'd be like Call of Cthulhu, but set in the modern day and be given fast travel to different locations.
Far future Dark Souls focused on reversing Heat Death would be the hypest shit ever.
Miyazaki himself is a good example of a success story. He started as just another no-name programmer within the company. When he discovered that the company had a side project in development of some type of RPG and it was about to get shut down due to its rocky development, he volunteered to take over the project and completely redid it from scratch. This became Demon's Souls and turned out to be a cult classic. And when he was allowed to make another (Dark Souls) and that became such a huge crazy success, he was promoted to President of the company because of it.
He's like a little Not-Kojima: Began almost from nothing then later became something that developed a line of VERY successful games and will continue to be a name in the industry. Let's hope Dark Souls III becomes his magnum opus in the trilogy.
