Since the old thread is buried, I thought I'd make a new one.
Supernatural is an American supernatural drama television series created by Eric Kripke, which debuted on September 13, 2005 on The WB, and is now part of The CW's lineup. Starring Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester and Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester, the series follows these two brothers as they hunt demons, ghosts, monsters and other figures of the supernatural. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television, in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision. The current executive producers are Eric Kripke, McG, and Robert Singer; former executive producer Kim Manners died of lung cancer during production of the fourth season.[SUP][1][/SUP]
There's also the Anime based off the TV show, from MAD house. As for the TV show, we're currently in the middle of Season 8. Anyways, the most recent episodes have brought some new and unexpected individuals into the fray-the Men of Letters, a secret society. If the hunters are King Arthur, these guys were their Merlin. And then the most recent episode, freaking Nazis! Anyway, talk about the show here.
Just started this show yesterday. Really enjoying it so far, although can anyone tell me when it starts to explore the mythology more, as opposed to the mystery of the week stuff?
More towards the end of Season 1. Season 2 explores things a little more and things build up alot in Season 3 :)
I think it's really cool bringing the whole secret societies thing in with the more recent episodes. The Men of Letters sound like a pretty cool organization for Sam and Dean to be getting involved with. Plus the Thule Society sound like they could make for some pretty cool villains given all the lore on Nazis and the Occult. Plus the fact that the Winchesters now have their own "Bat Cave" is pretty cool too.
The last two episodes have been great
In the past two months I have gone from knowing supernatural was a show to having watched every episode and thinking that this is one of the greatest shows ever. The references in the show to real life mythology and such is accurate insofar as the names. The actual plot and motives are all over the place. But thats what I love. Ontop of it all the beauty of this show is always trying to put yourself in Sam or Dean's position and seeing how pissed off or broken you could concievably be. 100/10 will probably end up watching again next year all over.
I love this show.
Season nine was confirmed
I've been following this show forever. I love how they always toy with supernatural lore and whatnot and put a modern or funny spin on it. The best episodes in my mind were [sp]the ones where they were in TV shows, where they were in the "real world" as Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, the one where Dean dies all the time, and where Supernatural itself was a book series in the TV show and they took a look at the fandom.[/sp]
Brilliant series but I've put it on the back burner since Season 7, got distracted and haven't had a chance to catch up. I think the last episode I saw was the one with the killer Chuck E. Cheese-mascot monsters.
Let's be honest. The only reason people are still watching this show is because they want Sam and Dean to fuck.
Let's be honest. The only reason people are still watching this show is because they want Sam and Dean to fuck.
That may be your reason but it's not mine. I mostly watch it for the humor and mythology.
Damn in cheetahben, you just made me remember fan art my GF came across once on accident when searching Sam and Dean in google image search,
Are they still doing that Leviathan thing?
Are they still doing that Leviathan thing?
Nope. The Leviathan plot is dead and buried.
The last season was really lackluster, but this one is really making me like the show again.
Let's be honest. The only reason people are still watching this show is because they want Castiel and Dean to fuck.
fixed.
Nope. The Leviathan plot is dead and buried.
it's amazing how the leviathan shit was so fucking contrived and retarded that the only way they could deal with it was to essentially bury it and pretend it never ever happened
Uh oh. Is Kevin going to get hooked on pot pills now or something?
it's amazing how the leviathan shit was so fucking contrived and retarded that the only way they could deal with it was to essentially bury it and pretend it never ever happened
Best thing they could've done TBH. That entire season was so fucking bad.
Preview for next episode is hilarious.
There's something about girls and dog collars.
Witches man, like damn.
Just got to the part where Henry comes back. Must say I haven't been this hyped for Supernatural since the early seasons.
The newest episode is pretty good, [sp]They meet Prometheus and kill Zeus[/sp]
The newest episode is pretty good, [sp]They meet Prometheus and kill Zeus[/sp]
yeah it's fucking confusing like, what's the correlation between Him and the greek one
yeah it's fucking confusing like, what's the correlation between Him and the Greek one
Pretty sure they are the same, They one in the show and the actual Greek one. Would not be the first popular mythological person they ganked.
Pretty sure they are the same, They one in the show and the actual Greek one. Would not be the first popular mythological person they ganked.
no i mean like, god and zeus
no i mean like, god and zeus
Not sure if serious. There is God and there is Zeus who is a god. Pretty sure that Zeus is lower on the totem pole being a pagan god and all that.
Not sure if serious. There is God and there is Zeus who is a god. Pretty sure that Zeus is lower on the totem pole being a pagan god and all that.
Ya and everyone knows that Chuck is God, Dressed in all white and just disapears like that Major Speculation ^
