Man, I have a hardon for Verge's design and videos. Something a normal news site would trash, Verge makes into such a greatly produced video with so many good details.
I must say while I hate YT's controls right now, I do like Google's overall design. It's very pleasing to my eyes, it's minimalistic and fits the bill. I am loving the new trend of minimalistic designs.
I'm just glad the whole web 2.0 phase is over with highlights on everything from every direction at once.
Google has no right to talk about innovative design after they mangled youtube.

The only problem I have with YouTube desktop is how its not aligned to the centre but I can pull 1000 scripts to fix that for me so why complain
It's not just iOS apps, Android is a beautiful OS, and all of the native apps are amazing (Currents, Gmail etc.)

Android 2.2 wasn't beautiful, it looked ugly
but Android Ice Cream Sandwich looks amazingly beautiful, the stock ROM of course, HTC's design choices bother me a lot
