North Korea Bans Foreign Tourist to Prevent Ebola Spread
North Korea has stepped up measures to prevent the spread of the Ebola virus into the reclusive country, state media reported Thursday, while a travel agent that specializes in North Korean tours said it has been informed that Pyongyang may ban foreign tourists from visiting.
Koryo Tours posted an announcement on its Twitter and Facebook accounts saying it has been told that no foreign tourists would be allowed into North Korea beginning Friday. It said it was not clear how long the ban would last and did not provide further details. Officials in Pyongyang had no immediate comment.
A Koryo company official said the measures did not appear to be a blanket ban on travel to North Korea, adding that business and government visits would be allowed to continue. He said Koryo Tours was also hoping to go ahead with a tour scheduled to begin on Saturday.
Also they are removing people's teeth and stockpiling cheese.
I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a ba... Actually never mind it's a good thing for the entire world to avoid the place.. Gives them less prisoners to tourtre some families over with.
This is a bad thing. Western influence has been progressively making the place better.

Well they'll keep Ebola out at least. Nobody wants to go in that country.
I don't think their healthcare system is exactly the best in the world, Ebola could probably really fuck them up. I can see why they're doing this.

Hmm... the evil mastermind in me is stirring.
It's not like their people are dying anyways
Good on North Korea for taking the health and welfare of its citizens seriously. For a moment there I thought the government there was crazy and evil, but now I can see that they are just being isolationistic for health reasons and are in no way responsible for any humanitarian problems in their country whatsoever.
This better not fuck my vacation plans in 2016.
now RAYHALO will never fulfill his dream
Wait, there's tour guides that specialize in giving tours of NK. I honestly would not mind going for the sake of seeing the old architecture and history.

It's amazing how even after so much time he's still mentioned in every NK thread.
We remember you sweet prince
Will North Korea be the next Madagascar?
Until a case of fresh Swiss cheese riddled with Ebola finds it way into Kim Jong Un's gullet.

It's $1500 for a seven day tourist package. It sounds so ridiculous and I'm willing to try it.

you're willing to pay 1500 dollars to a fascist government that routinely terrorizes and murders its citizens so you can go there and be treated better than 99% of the people who actually live there?

Sounds like a fun time

you're basically knowingly paying a serial killer to go hang out in his mansion while his future victims hide in the basement
north korea is like disney land but without the fun attractions so why would anyone sane want to go there?
Wonder how much longer will it stay closed after everyone has forgotten about ebola.

although i see the parallel, western nations fucked up both (the usa/cia in latin americas)
You might aswell go to Disneyland. Those tours are about you spending money there. The only time you won't see a North Korean working for the government is when you zoom past them at 100 km/h.
Even a guided tour to NK would be interesting, to be honest. The thing about supporting the regime, yeah, but just because it's guided doesn't mean it won't be a hell of a trip.
