I've always loved mathcore bands such as Dance Gavin Dance, A Lot Like Birds, Hail the Sun, Chiodos, and Stolas, but lately I've been feeling the need for some much more chill, math-rock. I recently found the band This Town Needs Guns, and I love it. So, care to share your math-rock/mathcore bands? Wikipedia says protest the hero is mathcore, don't feel like reading about what mathcore is. read the first sentence of the wiki page for mathcore yeah protest the hero is probably mathcore
what the fuck not a single one of the bands in the OP is math?
okay!
Clean of Core I only know one song by them it's called shift but it's really good. I've been looking for math rock bands recently and as far as I know Dance Gavin Dance and Chiodos aren't mathcore bands?
Toe is math right do you know American Football, they're not really math but since youre asking for chill math I'm tempted to suggest them

this band is extremely crucial and this track is probably the best song ever devised for opening any live set i know very little about mathcore besides botch and dillinger escape plan tbh (the former of which is one of my all time favorite bands) citizens tell me of more bands like that
Anyone like Giraffes? Giraffes! or Drive Like Jehu?
I love DLJ
I LOVE The Speed of Sound in Seawater http://thespeedofsoundinseawater.bandcamp.com/ one of my favourites: and City of Ifa is one of my all time favourite math bands, though it's somewhere kind of inbetween math rock and mathcore imo: http://cityofifa.bandcamp.com/album/blue-shoes this is their best album, it has a special place in my heart here's a song from Black Pyramid which is also a really good album: also here's a japanese math rock band, tricot they recently released their first album, T H E it's kind of like City of Ifa but with qt azn girl vocals, pretty great
