It's rare that an 11-year-old hunter bags a 12-point buck with a crossbow. It's even more rare when that buck is an albino deer. Gavin Dingman of Oceola Township took down the trophy buck last week while hunting with his father, Mick Dingman. "He kind of feels like a rock star right now. Everyone is calling, all of the hunting shows and hunting magazines," Mick Dingman said. The Dingmans had spotted the albino deer several times over the past couple of years and had even snapped photos of it. "The whole neighborhood is familiar with it. Quite a few of the guys in the neighborhood were trying to get it," Mick Dingman said.
[t]http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/c656504c03aace800d523051346463581f4aed89/c=0-0-4128-3096&r=x404&c=534x401/local/-/media/Livingston/2014/10/18/01deer.jpg[/t] http://www.freep.com/story/news/local/community/oceola-township/2014/10/17/oceola-township-boy-bags-rare-albino-deer/17473269/
I could use somebody to shoot up the game around our cottage. We came there last weekend to find the back lawn completely and ploughed apart by boars. Deer also love to bite bark off young fruit trees and crap, fuckers. All the bastards are overpopulating that there's no tomorrow. I would love to have wolves or some other natural predator back in the forests, but until that's a thing, people will have to make sure enough of these gets shot every year.
What an absolutely bizarre read
Is this article condemning him for killing a rare animal or is it congratulating him for killing it? I can't get a vibe from it.

I'm really glad the only thing we have around here is coyotes.
Man killing a rare animal is so cool

Why does an 11-year old know how to use a crossbow?
Why does an 11-year old know how to use a crossbow?
When I was a kid in Cub Scouts, they taught us archery and how to use BB guns. As long as you really hammer in safety, it's not that big a deal.
Is this article condemning him for killing a rare animal or is it congratulating him for killing it? I can't get a vibe from it.
Maybe it's kinda neutral and just carries sole information? I know it's rare in today press but it should be that way in ideal case...
Why does an 11-year old know how to use a crossbow?
It's not that hard to figure out? I thought it was pretty general knowledge that a lot of families that hunt teach their kids from an early age?
Why does an 11-year old know how to use a crossbow?
Uhh..It really isn't that difficult for one, and two if the child is trained in gun/weapon safety and is well known he isn't gonna flail his gun around like a sperg then it should be fine. I'm sure there has been younger that has shot a real firearm.
Apparently their neighborhood makes a game out of who can kill the rarest animal.
Maybe it's kinda neutral and just carries sole information? I know it's rare in today press but it should be that way in ideal case...
It's horrible that people read articles with the expectation of political bias. It's so very common.
Why does an 11-year old know how to use a crossbow?
I fired a crossbow a couple of times when I was 13 years old. The only thing that was exceedingly difficult was pulling the string back. I got some help there since there was no way I could do it myself.
Man killing a rare animal is so cool
white deer generally dont survive long in the wild anyway unless there is some strange extenuating circumstance that stops predators from killing them plus deer are huge pests and have enormous overpopulation issues, anyone who is against hunting them hasn't gone out in winter and seen families of dead deer huddled together after they all starved to death
Apparently their neighborhood makes a game out of who can kill the rarest animal.
Uh, it doesn't say that anywhere in the article?

It is kinda like catching a shiny Pokemon... It's not impressive, it's just a matter of luck that you come across one in the first place.
It is kinda like catching a shiny Pokemon... It's not impressive, it's just a matter of luck that you come across one in the first place.
I think the 11 year old had some pretty good skills if he managed to kill it though. And yeah the sheer luck itself is whats impressive.
200 years ago that deer probably would've been considered a deity.
200 years ago that deer probably would've been considered a deity.
White deer appear in mythology a few times the world over.
cool for the kid, i suppose i know that there's people that are going to bash on him for killing an albino deer because they're rare, but he's kind of perpetuating natural order anyways if it's albino, it's very likely to be predated and killed due to its lack of camouflage in the environment. if it's captured, it's just going to be paraded around in a pen for the rest of it's life.
Uh, it doesn't say that anywhere in the article?
I think he inferred it from
"The whole neighborhood is familiar with it. Quite a few of the guys in the neighborhood were trying to get it," Mick Dingman said.
Good for him, I guess. I wonder if its hide would be worth anything? Since it's albino and all, and some people just love white furs/hides.
he didn't spare :(
