Construction Cranes in The Netherlands Fall Over - Multiple People Inured
During construction work at the Julianabrug in Alphen aan den Rijn, two construction cranes fell Monday afternoon. Multiple people have been injured in this incident. Four houses and two shops are damaged.
This is what the spokesman of the safety region in Hollands Middle says to NU.nl.
It's not clear how many have been injured. "We're talking about seven to twenty people that have been injured." says the spokesman.
This is just terrible. It's quite something, since it barely happens here.
Also excuse me for the terrible English, I had to translate it all and I'm really ill as of now. I didn't see a thread about it, and I've never made a thread in SH myself. Go figure.
If someone can translate a better article, that would be great.
That video of them falling over is quite something. That seems like quite the scary thing to be around. Thankfully nobody has died yet.
I'm 15km away from this. What the fuck.
Can't edit OP, can't change "Inured" to "Injured" :v:
But I just heard about it on the news and I didn't see a thread, so fuck it ya know. It's rough stuff.
I never hear about this place unless a disaster happens.
Is having crane trucks on a boat a common thing? Because it just really doesn't look safe.
Damn, that video looks surreal. With the music playing in the background, it almost looks like it's something from out of a game.
I hope the injuries won't be too bad.
Is having crane trucks on a boat a common thing? Because it just really doesn't look safe.
It was a bridge, so I suppose they had no other options.
Would be surprising if they managed to pull it off. That boat looks too narrow to lift up such a big piece, that high and then turn it around mid air. Really a high risk maneuver.
Damn that sucks big time

Actually I don't think they meant to spin it, you can see when it starts spinning it's when workers start running away(0:45).

Didn't even see that at first. Look at the far boat, they immediately see it's going horribly wrong.
Someone really fucked up on this

Well, the right side of the boat started sinking already at 0:35, someone messed up not noticing that.

You can hear her in the first clip too.

In the first clip I though that was that bird :v:
I'm glad that noone died though. That aftermath video looks really bad.
The fucking screaming of the woman, Jesus Christ. Thank god that other dude was sensible and stayed calm.
I wonder how she'd scream if you put it in the wrong hole. Like damn woman!
Wow, word got out that nobody got injured at all. It was reported that person who was removed from the rubble has to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. But they failed to mention that he was already in a wheelchair to begin with.
It's truly a miracle that nobody got hurt.
They got a few opinions in the paper today from people who have experience with cranes and such.
Based on the videos, one guy called this 'poor, clumsy, amateur work'.
Oh my god that fucking flute solo is amazing
It crashed right on the store where I used to buy al my pencils and brushes, guess I wont be doing anything artistic for a while :V:

From what other people have said, she was screaming "Oh my home my home!" so most likely the building was her residence and it just got crushed.
