Stephen Fry is to step down as the host of BBC Two comedy quiz show QI after 13 years.
The presenter said it was "one of the best jobs on television" but felt "it was time to move on".
He will be replaced by Sandi Toksvig, who called it her "dream job". She stood down as chair of BBC Radio Four's The News Quiz earlier this year after a 10-year run.
Sandi is so terribly dull, to me. I'll miss Fry
Won't be the same without Fry. :(
Could have been worse. Could have been Jo Brand.
Sandi Tokksvig is a good replacement, actually.
Like it could have been soooo much worse, I quite like her and she's a very knowledgeable person
:'(
Would've picked David Mitchell personally but eh, I suppose Toksvig won't be the last... unless Fry's departure runs the show into the ground.
Sandi is pretty much perfect for the job if I'm honest. The extent of her knowledge on the show is insane.
She's the female Stephen Fry in so many ways now that I think about it.

I actually wanted to say how she will be a poor replacement, then as I started thinking about it more I changed my mind that she is probably the best replacement they have.
I can't wait until Stephen Fry is a guest on Sandi's QI. I can see shit getting really competitive.

David Mitchell hosting would have been amazing.
Ah that is sad. I love QI. At least there's a lot of episodes that I still need to catch up with.
should have been alan davis
then replace alan davis with lenny henry.
that would have spun the show into madness :]
I hope Sandi and Alan develop chemistry to last longer than the occasional appearance that she's had in the past. QI is the only TV show I watch, and I'd hate for it to have all depended entirely on Fry to be good.
I think she'll be a great QI host. Of course she's no Stephen but it could have been a LOT worse.

Is QI still any good? I haven't watched it in a while.

It won't be good anymore, now that Stephen Fry has stepped down.
It won't be good anymore, now that Stephen Fry has stepped down.
I'unno, it will likely still be worth watching. If she just tries to emulate Fry entirely, though, then that'd be a rather bad decision.
I've Watched Qi live with Sandi hosting, and while Stephen is perfect for the role Sandi does a really good job too. She would definitely been one of my goto choices after Fry.
episodes with sandi are some of my favorite so i'm glad she's taking the reigns at least
Could have been worse. Could have been Jo Brand.
Could've been Russell Brand, now that would've been something worse.

It won't be the same, but it'll still be good. Alan is staying on as resident dingus which is essential, and it'll be interesting to see how the relationship between host and dingus changes
THe only reason I love QI is Fry's wit with the others. :(
I hope Phill Jupitus flirts inappropriately with Sandi exactly as he did Stephen.
Sandi is awesome, sometimes she'd even add her own knowledge on the subjects and make it interesting.
Not as funny as some of the guests, but those can always be decided and it would also make the show more interesting when Stephen himself ends up being a contestant - hopefully at Alan's side :).
Stephen Fry made QI what it is though.
And all these years Alan thought he was being groomed to take over.
Poor Alan.
