Sarkozy admits he 'can't stand' Israeli premier. Obama: You're fed up with him? I have to deal with him every day! French President Nicolas Sarkozy reportedly told US President Barack Obama that he could not "stand" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and that he thinks the Israeli premier "is a liar." According to a Monday report in the French website "Arret sur Images," after facing reporters for a G20 press conference on Thursday, the two presidents retired to a private room, to further discuss the matters of the day. The conversation apparently began with President Obama criticizing Sarkozy for not having warned him that France would be voting in favor of the Palestinian membership bid in UNESCO despite Washington's strong objection to the move. Arret sur Images (Screenshot) The conversation then drifted to Netanyahu, at which time Sarkozy declared: "I cannot stand him. He is a liar." According to the report, Obama replied: "You're fed up with him, but I have to deal with him every day!" The remark was naturally meant to be said in confidence, but the two leaders' microphones were accidently left on, making the would-be private comment embarrassingly public. The communication faux pas went unnoticed for several minutes, during which the conversation between the two heads of state – which quickly reverted to other matters – was all but open to members the press, who were still in possession of headsets provided by the Elysée for the sake of simultaneous translation during the G20 press conference. "By the time the (media) services at the Elysée realize it, it was on for at least three minutes," one journalist told the website. Still, he said that reporters "did not have a chance to take advantage of this fluke." The surprising lack of coverage may be explained by a report alleging that reporters present at the event were requested to sign an agreement to keep mum on the subject of the embarrassing comments. A member of the media confirmed Monday that "there were discussions between journalists and they agreed not to publish the comments due to the sensitivity of the issue."

He added that while it was annoying to have to refrain from publishing the information, the journalists are subject to precise rules of conduct.[/release]
Hahaha oh fuck I can't breathe, this is probably the funniest piece of news I've heard in this entire year. Though I'm sure it'll have some serious consequences But until then hahahahahahaha
"You'll have to speak up a little, I can hear angry whispering echoing in the room."
Words do not describe how hilarious this is.
Somehow I'm not surprised. Perhaps Obama was sincere about his statements in regard to Palestine in a way beyond simply saying things that seem supportive of their plight.
Yes. At least world leaders think Israel is as annoying as the populace does.
This better not end up costing Obama the election, we all know how the GOP is going to want to spin this one
Dear god i'm laughing very hard, :v:.
Even politicians hate politicians.
This better not end up costing Obama the election, we all know how the GOP is going to want to spin this one
You and I both know it probably will
And once again, my mind is comparing international politics and the UN to schoolyard gossip and shenanigans, and student government. And they match up pretty well.
This better not end up costing Obama the election, we all know how the GOP is going to want to spin this one
If I were you I'd get a pen and get ready to start marking down how many times the word "anti-semite" is used.
You and I both know it probably will
Implying there is anyone who is even relatively competent to run against him.
Implying there is anyone who is even relatively competent to run against him.
Implying you have to be even relatively competent to be president.
Everyone hates Netanyahu, he's a massive prick. If he makes a statement about this, look to see if his eyes are red from crying because all the cool countries don't like him.
If I were you I'd get a pen and get ready to start marking down how many times the word "anti-semite" is used.
Fox News is going to be saying 'Nazi' so many times that you'd swear you were watching one of those shoddily made Autotune parody videos.
Implying you have to be even relatively competent to be president.
Implying the GOP currently has anyone who even meets those slim requirements.
Implying the GOP currently has anyone who even meets those slim requirements.
I can pay that...
This better not end up costing Obama the election, we all know how the GOP is going to want to spin this one
:foxnews: OBAMA: JEW HATER; VERBALLY ABUSES WORLD LEADERS AT G20, MORE AT 6 :foxnews:
Even the president gets in trouble.
It's funny because they're right :v:
Another source besides whatever the fuck that one is?
Well, the Israeli prime minister IS a lying dick who has no real interest in fair bargaining.
Implying you have to be even relatively competent to be president.
Obama is nothing if not level-headed.

Any official response on the part of Israel?
Obama is nothing if not level-headed.
He is unflappably levelheaded.
He is unflappably levelheaded.
It's true.
Obama is seriously the best president you yanks have ever had, hahaha
As funny as this is, I wished they had said something a bit juicier.
