Hello. You probably don't know me, unless you hang round the programming section a lot. Anyway, to the point. Basically I've hit a point where I feel that I want to start making some money out of programming, but if anyone here has ever seen my artwork... Well, you probably haven't seen anything since. So, essentially I feel that if I want to make any money that I'm going to need an artist. Obviously it's not much to go on. I don't have a game idea, I'm not an ideas guy and I'm certainly not an artist. However, I am a somewhat talented programmer (Not the best on here, but far from being the worst) and a skilled guitarist. I don't have any samples of my work, this is usually because I get stuck making art assets and give up.
So, if you want to apply just post here or PM me with Steam Name or Short Summary of skills or... Whatever. I'm looking to have a number of games released on XBLIG and PC (hopefully Steam  ) But I'd need someone to help. Upon joining (starting?) the team we would probably have a brainstorming session to develop some game ideas. Also, although this seems somewhat hypocritical, could you please provide work. I know art is very subjective, but most people can tell the difference between art and scribbles. Although some scribbles look... You get the point.
tl;dr - Want an artist to help start up a games development company, money will be shared evenly, please post work and summary or PM me your Steam name etc.
Also, I'm well aware that you guys probably get quite a lot of these shit posts. But I'm determined to make this work (Got to pay for hookers and drugs some how)
How is it fair that you want an artist to post samples of their work for you to choose, when you've provided no samples of your programming skills at all?
I've done a bit of game art while I was an admin at Darkland Servers (http://www.darklandservers.com/) a long time ago.
Otherwise I just mainly draw tigers.

Yeah, I've already said that it was hypocritical. But, I don't feel that I can post anything due to most my projects being half finished.
If you know UDK then maybe I could use you.

Not my field sorry.
Oh boy, you would be lucky to have lucky as your artist.
How is it fair that you want an artist to post samples of their work for you to choose, when you've provided no samples of your programming skills at all?
To be fair, most people (not all) judge software off of their visuals and if he isn't artistic showing you either an ugly front end or snippets of code probably will either not look good for him or not make any sense in the case of the snippets. Unless the artist knew about games programming also of course some people are good at both.
Instead he probably should have just listed examples of the previous programs he has written and what sort of advance techniques he used for them. This is still technical but it is much easier to google the name of the technique then try and understand the coding behind it.
Loli: I myself am a programmer too, so can't help you. Good luck though.
Out of curiosity, know anything about App development?

A little...
do you know anything about properly setting up a company? because you'll need to know if you plan to make any money off it. me and a friend tried starting a small company a while ago but gave up when we found we had to register for a ton of shit and get licenses and go through applications and blergh. not worth it.
Yeah, I know a little. I've been looking it up and stuff. Probably spent around 3-4 hours looking at stuff. I've also got some mates who have been through college and done business at A-Level, so hopefully they can help.

Hmm, how to sum up everything I've done?
- I've done a few small free lance projects, all of my customers have been happy.
- FFT Algorithm. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast_Fourier_transform
- Normal Mapping for lighting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2a8_xwZQ0s
- Numerous tile engines, including: Squares, Hexagonal and Isometric
- Millions of Menu Systems
- Custom GUI's for game engines
- Mandelbrot Set. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandelbrot_set
- Particle Engines
This may not seem like too much, and some of it isn't even that impressive. But it's a small over view of what I've done in the past. Bound to be some things I've missed out.

The only thing I've built recently that I feel is worth showing off.
You don't happen to know Java, do you? Because my friend Rayboy and I make games with Java. Right now he's networking multiplayer for our flagship project, "Comet". Here's our blog. I do all artwork for the game, he does all programming. It's quite a lot for him to do, so if we had a second programmer that would be awesome.

I do know Java, but don't like it enough to build a whole project in it. Artwork is great though. The search continues.

You would have a second man helping you, though.
Like I said, I hate the language. It's really slow and uncooperative.

Ok.
And my quest for an artist carries on...
